Hi stackers...
I'm running a low payout mobile app install on Airpush that has been converting exceptionally well the last 3 days (4-6% CR) with 20+ conversions yesterday.
But today, I'm on a total of 0 conversions.
Any idea why this could be happening? Impressions and CTR are dropping too. I've already almost doubled my CPC bid but nothing is happening!
Thanks
What's your daily budget? Do you have enough funds in your account?
If your CTR is dropping, that means your CPM is dropping, so somebody else could be out-bidding you.
It could just be a bad day, if it happens tomorrow, hit up your Rep.
what country r u targeting? if its small countries, most of your previous impression may come from 1 or 2 particular PUB or APP, so was your conversion.
and they may pause your ads at their end. so your impression drop and hence your conversion.
check by using your optimiser provided in Airpush ya.
There are lots of reasons why this could happen...
Competition, audience saturation, day-to-day variation, technical issues on the offer end or even your end, etc.
I'd test the offer link and let it run another day to see if the behaviour reverses. You could also check Airpush tracking data, whatever is available, to see if there has been a change in the traffic e.g. certain placements disappeared.
Thanks for your feedback adivity and charlessaw90.
Yes I have enough funds in my account and daily budget is set to $15
I have been getting conversions from a very wide variety of placements too (ie not just one or two placements)
I realised the problem is that I'm really not getting impressions today. So somebody must be outbidding me. However, if I increase my CPC bid any more, it will really ruin my CPA goals.
What would you guys do in this situation?
P.s I'm targeting a small geo
I guess the trouble lies in the fact that I'm promoting a low paying app install ($0.30) and I won't be able to compete for bids with someone who is promoting a higher payout offer and can bid for higher CPCs and get positive ROIs still. Am I making sense here? Haha
Also, is it possible to whitelist placements in airpush? (I have upped the bid on individual placements using the optimiser... But is there an easier way to do this for multiple placements at one go?
Thanks for your reply Zeno
I guess I will wait this out for a day or two to see what happens. I've also contacted my airpush rep to see if he can shed some light on this! I've also split tested some different angles to try to get rid of the banner blindness
If it's a small traffic network, I'd ask the Rep what's the bid right above your's, try to top that bid (If you consider it viable).
on top of that ask your AM to see if he can bump you on those .30c and turn it into a more competitive payout, sometimes they bump you .03 sometimes they bump you .10c depending on the AM's power over the payout. once you start running High volume to that offer you can ask your AM to ask the advertiser to bump you considerably, In my experience I've gotten bumps of over 40% on these app install offers after running good volume.
I run several "low payout" offers as you call them, and sundays are not the best days for them, maybe this is the reason you are not seeing many conversions
I would let it run until tomorrow see which results you get, and definitely do what I advised you above if you haven't already done so.
Good luck with it buddy.
Thanks kondorkash... Ill definitely wait this one out for a few more days and see how it goes... I've actually got 2 conversions since I started the thread. Still nothing compared to the 20+ i got yesterday but at least I know the offer is still working!
BTW, when ad networks serve ads, do they serve them live immediately? My geo is in pretty much the same time zone as I am in, so sundays (yesterday) actually seemed to be a good day for conversions, and monday (today)... not so much.
, That really depends on the network, some are instant others take 15 mins and on some managed it might take up to 2-3hours.Hi Kondorkash... Nope... Still no good. Not getting any impressions and if I up my bid, I'll really ruin my CPA. Also, I don't think my AM will be willing to give me a pay bump cos I'm not generating m volume yet.
I think the next step from here is to look for different, cheaper geos to promote this offer on and try out other offers as well. Not giving up!!
