Popads Conversion Tracking (7)

Popads Conversion Tracking

In short: is there a way to track conversions through Voluum with popads as the traffic source?

I'm running a campaign on popads, split testing two landers. I've seen a couple of conversions in Mundo but these don't show up in Voluum. I understand that popads doesn't support server to server conversion tracking but is there any way to see which landers are receiving conversions, either in voluum or in even in popads?

Of course, you can track conversions in Voluum no matter the traffic source - it is quite literally irrelevant.

Whether you can pass conversion data back to the traffic source depends on the traffic source.

If you can see conversions at Mundo but not in Voluum then your tracking is not configured correctly.

You need to pass the clickid value to Mundo using {clickid} then pass that back from Mundo using a postback URL and whatever subid token is appropriate.

This is very simple stuff that you should get on top of since you'll need it for every campaign you run through Voluum...

Thanks for the reply, Zeno.

Yep that was the problem. I'd been doing that on other campaigns but I didn't on this one because I thought that tracking value came from the traffic source rather than Voluum. Guess I'll have to spend some time reading up on tracking to understand it properly.

Currers, I take that you have the Popads tracking sorted out in Voluum?

I am wondering if you put in ANYTHING in the POSTBACK URL or PIXEL REDIRECT URL in the PopAds Traffic Source set up Page? I didn't. Now in the Voluum panel, I can see visitors but I don't know how much I am spending (unless I go to the PopAds panel). Did I set up something incorrectly in Voluum or is this normal?

@adwater, you only need to set up that postback/pixel url if you wish to fire conversions back to your traffic source. For tracking other parameters, make sure you have implemented tokens for the given traffic source.

Conversion tracking between Voluum and your network has nothing to do with the traffic source. At all, it quite literally is irrelevant.

All you need to do is pass Voluum's click ID to your network as a subid, e.g. with .....&s3={clickid}..., then pass that value back in a postback URL from the network, e.g. voluumurl.com/postback?cid=#s3#&amount=#payout#

You'll need to do this for every campaign, every network, almost every time unless using a global postback at the network.

Check out: http://stmforum.com/forum/showthread...ll-Video-Guide where I set up Voluum <-> F5 Media. The process is the same no matter the network, just different affiliate URL formats and different tokens at the network.

Adwater, no leave that blank because Popads doesn't facilitate postback urls. It also doesn't facilitate cost tracking. So you won't be able to see your conversions in Popads or your spend in Voluum.

If you aren't seeing conversions in Voluum, however, you've done something wrong.
