Spending $3500 in 2 months on testing! Looking for successful campaign #2
I got lucky with my last follow along. Within a week and a half I was making $150 a day and that was with minimal optimization. After optimizing I peaked at around 250 a day and couldn't get much more volume. The campaign lasted about a month.
New goal= $500 a day
Now I'm back I have a some small ROI campaigns running but I'm back to do what I should have done in the first place (and that is spend enough money to really understand what is going on). I learned a ton from having a profitable campaign and now I'm ready to apply the skills I learned but more importantly learn a ton more and really start to understand my traffic source.
What's different this time around:
1. I spent a week learning how to create any landing page I would need and add any feature to the page.
2. I can make banners a lot quicker.
3. I know what a good campaign looks like.
4. My statistical rules are ingrained in me and I rarely have to look them up.
5. I have a better idea of what angles work and how to create continuity between landing page and banner.
I took a semester off school to make Mobile PPC happen and I've decided to go all in and put a 3500 into mobile advertising over the next 2 months, if I hit my mark of $500 a day I won't return to school next semester.
My goal is to truly understand my traffic source. Run a ton of offers and see what type of stuff works and more importantly what works generally across the network.
I want to know which placements work for what and so I've developed a plan to do some big campaigns.
Tomorrow I'll post details from my latest campaign and things about my campaign!
I was really inspired by a the follow alongs where people posted their stats everyday for over 60 days. I think when you post that much you hold yourself accountable to keep testing.
***Main Goal: Post my stats here for 60 days straight!***
Who knows what will happen but it will be fun!

Thats a really great start bro, keep striking while you're hot! $500/day is literally around the corner, just keep testing and scaling scaling scaling profitability.

Thats exactly the right mindset, become a total master of a select few sources and as long as they don't update their rules too much you can use them for a long time to come.

how come you were unable to get more volume? and why did the campaign die after a month? i happen to face the same issues you are facing. when i tried managed networks somehow they did not work for me and i could not find profitable ways to optimize them.
what kind of new offers are you intending to test and what lead you in this direction?

The limited volume was the result of really targeted campaigns.
The end of the campaign happened for a couple of reasons.
Firstly the advertiser knocked their payout to half of what it was for one of the offers I was running. This made it nearly impossible to profit. Secondly he bids on the traffic I was buying doubled. Because I had optimized the campaigns so much they still made money for a while, but the profit margins were getting so small I decided optimization efforts were better spent finding new campaigns with potential then keeping a tiny profit margin.
I plan on going through my networks list of top 100 volume offers and sorting them by vertical then thoroughly testing each vertical to determine which sites and apps the vertical works on. If a vertical doesn't work on my traffic source I'll just ditch it for the time being.

Having a first success is so important, since it give you the confidence to try new things. Good job on your first follow along, and best of luck to you on this one!

Thanks CMDeal. I appreciate the encouragement. I think there really is something to having your first successful campaign. You realize it's just a matter of testing to find more!
Here are the stats for the day. Let me know if I'm doing this right
Costs: $116.12
Revenue: $105.75
ROI:
-8.9%
Loss: $-10.37
At different parts of the day the campaign was profitable, but towards the end of the day conversions started slowing down. Cut a landing page that had a statistically significant less conversion rate than the other two landing pages I was running.
Plan for tomorrow. Upload new campaign for Whatsapp. Add in new banners to try to increase CTR on current campaign.

Thanks I appreciate it!
So today was not the best day. Made landing pages but callout was not working correctly. My friend who works with me thought the campaigns were ready and pressed go. What resulted was $40 spend and 0 conversions. 400 views to landing page and 0 click throughs. The error on the landing page was bad but I still would guess at least one person might have came through.
I'm concerned that South Africa on Decisive might be bot ridden. Whenever I run there I get really high CTR and few LP CT or converions. Does anyone else have this experience?
Anyway, will be working on angles and making new banners for tomorrow.
Not all was wasted because we got information on banner CTR.

If you have bot concerns you can deploy some tests to check!

Posting here everyday is hard work when you're testing new offers. Just ran a bunch of new offers results yesterday were.
Spent: $40.00
Earned: .57 cents
Two conversions from the same placement. Looks promising! Will be making new landing pages and banners! Will try to keep you guys in the loop!

Last two days:
20 conversions
profit: -$3.24
22 conversions
Profit: -$4.30
I'm currently split testing bidding strategies to try to find a way to get more traffic. It looks like the traffic is there, but may not be for the price I need it. I'm going to go to the app developer and see if I can cut out the middle man and do a direct media buy. I will also be talking to F5media about getting a Paybump.
