new to affiliate marketing. PICKING AN OFFER.

Hey guys im New to all this. Im going through the section where im doing my research on the adult spy tool. But the offer that was recommended to me doesnt have any ads that have been running.. So im thinking what is my next option.

Should i just do a narrow search on a wide base of offers but be strategic to it..

For example: Lets say my offer recommendation was milfs but i dont see that specific offer that was recommended to me running a lot of ads.

But lets say i just do a wide search of all ads last three months that have been running for a certain amount of days and look for ads that have older women and what not in the ads. But those ads are for different offers.

Would it be good idea, even though these older women ads are for all different dating site offers... Should i still just get ideas from all the long running ads with older women in them. Then create my 10 different banners off those older women banner ads and then point it to the offer that was recommended to me by my network?

Thanks guys

Personally when I start a campaign I use a few offers in that niche. If your aff network does not have more then one then join a few more networks. In terms of the ads I would suggest taking a few of the text examples you have found and building 10 different ads with different milf images and testing those. Its easier to start with more ads and more offers and more landers at the start then to slowly ad them in. Takes a bit of a budget but in the long run you will get results faster (depending on spend).

P.S. ignore my terrible grammar..

okay so lets say 10 different ads.. and lets say i have 3 offers. Do i split those different ads among the 3 offers. LIke 3 to one 3 to the other and so forth...

im talking about when just starting out to get familiar and use to it all..? thanks bud

What are you using for tracking software? They should all be set up to rotate evenly through the traffic you are buying. 10 ads > presales/landers > 3 offers. All in rotation.
Does this make sense?

Hi gansel I'm using Voluum for my tracker but I'm curious about what your saying. Rotating ads and landers to test? Can you please elaborate and explain how to if you could?

Where are you buying traffic? When you upload your ads to the traffic source upload all 10 at once so they are all getting the same amount of traffic.
When I say rotating landers I mean if you have multiple pre sales (which you should to start a campaign unless you are running direct to the offer) You split the traffic evenly in Voluum when you are starting a campaign.
Like so

If this confuses you I think you need to go back and read some of the newb section. That or I am terrible at explaining.

Thanks for getting back to me so promptly bro. I am buying traffic on POF right now just to get a grasp of how to launch, optimize and test of different techniques of split testing.

All good. I think you need to learn how to launch first. Maybe read up some more in here.

so the presale landers and offers all change with the ads. So it would look something like this maybe: 10ads>2landers>3offers. = ad1/lander1/offer1 , ad1/lander1/offer2, and so forth and so forth and so forth...

Damn thats quite a bit of variations. Awesome!

Well usually you just pick the best performing combo out of the whole bunch and run with that. But that is the idea.

Pretty much yeah.

Only difference is first i would try the angles you see working with some new ideas. See which is the best and link to the offers your AM recommends.

Is there a particular threshold before you cut a non-performing combo? eg. x amount of impressions, no clicks; x amount of clicks, no conversions.

I understand you need to wait for statistical significance - but are there other cutoff points before this? or is this something you get a feel for as you become more experienced?

I personally do it by spend. If the payout of your offer is $3.50 I usually let ads spend 3.50 each. I know a lot of people do double the pay out per ad also. Depends on your budget.
Once you start noticing trends you will be able to cut ads sooner then that though. Its all personal preference also.
