Getting Budget Required to Start Focusing on AM

I hope this is the right forum, couldn't find a more fitting one (If this is the wrong forum, mods please correct me )

My problem:
I need a monthly income of between $900-1300 so I can pay my bills (rent, food, hookers, cocaine, what have you..) and start running some campaigns.

I'll be graduating around January (MSc, MBA) but I've decided against getting a serious full-time job right away as I want to focus the coming year on getting my AM business up and running. However, to do this I need a minimal income to get started. I could do this by a variety of shitty side-jobs, working about 25-30h/week, but in The Mobile Cookbook Appetizer Thread Zeno states that "If you start a post about getting a budget on STM, people will probably have some good ideas for alternate revenue streams you can use to develop a budget large enough to begin AM!" (this is also my insurance policy if I get any flak from you guys about posting a request like this on STM )

Thus, does anyone have any ideas how I can make this kind of money online (at around 30hours a week)? Perhaps as a copy writer, VA, etc?

Any help is much appreciated.

Depends on what you can do, what your skills are.

You can try sites like odesk, fiverr etc ... You should be able to do simple copywriting, translation services in case you speak some language on a good level, proof reading - these are all services I regularly go for to odesk. Then there is simple design work, some html etc, really depends on what you can get done. But the $ wont be big, there is massive competition on odesk for example, I always get t least a dozen offers, sometimes multiple dozens. So Im not sure if this is a viable option at all for you.

Id suggest you find some part-time job in your area, that will get you some minimum income and you will still be left with enough time each day to play with AM.

What are your main skills?

With the right advertising in forums, a banner/landing page designer can make $3-4k a month. So it really depends on skills + how to advertise yourself.

possible, but very difficult. backpackers on a work visa have made a bad reputation for employers in australia. finding work isn't that difficult. but mines on the most part will avoid you altogerther.

might be easier in Canada tbh. friend of mine is heading out to go pipelining in a month or so. they got him starting at $10k/month

but altogether, I would simply just save a few grand for testing purposes, then get a credit card to maintain the cashflow

saving up a few grand isnt too difficult even on a minimum wage job (might have to put the hookers and cocaine on hold for a bit )

As others have said, the biggest question here is "what are your skills?"

Almost everyone has some skills they can exploit to get a stable income to start exploring IM, but the path differs a lot depending on what you can do well.

This is something that I have been looking into myself at the moment I could only save about $300-800 per month.

@teabwoi94 : But that's more than enough money to get started, no?

From what I read I thought it was around $1000

How much you need depends on what you want to do... specifically what type of traffic you want to explore and in what country.

If you can get 1 million clicks for a dollar you can certainly roll out some campaigns with a $20/day budget...

How much you earn really depends on what you can do,you can make profit $1000 if you can.
so My suggestion is measure your ability first, then you can dig a little deeper, there will be failure surely. but stick on what you believe, work harder then you will make it~good Luck
