I'm making some mobile banners and was wondering how often the call to action needs to be present.
For example, a banner that says "Secret: Your Friends Are Saving $$$'s per Month with this Trick"
--is it enough to just have that and assume people will click to find out more?
Or do I need to have a mouse hand or button to call action. Something that signifies there's more to this banner, click to find out!
I'd think in most cases calls to action would probably perform better, but I don't know for sure.
I have tested both and most of the time call to actions have a higher CTR. Test both just to be sure.
Test both, but usually a CTA banner will outperform no CTA.
People like to be told what to do.
The answer is to split test.
