F5Media application questions & phone call

Hi,

I've submitted an application with F5Media to become an affiliate. I got an email back from the network director asking me a few questions.
I'm very keen and committed to get this right and to get accepted so I would need your guys' advice on how best to approach the questions and also clarify some of the jargon for me please. I have attempted to answer them myself below and just would like your views on it since F5Media is run by STM ;-)

Question 1: What offers are you currently running?

My experience with affiliate marketing is in email marketing. I have email lists in the dating niche that I send newsletters to with various dating offers from affiliate networks like clickbank. I grow and build my lists through Facebook ads, solo ads and organic traffic. They are between 5000 to 7000 subscribers big and growing, projected to hit 10,000 over the coming months.

The next priority for my business is to get into mobile. This is slightly (or even very different) from email marketing but I see it as a great growth opportunity. I'm committed to getting into mobile advertising and through testing of good offers in any niche, find profitable ones and run campaigns. I intend to buy traffic from different sources depending upon the offer (Decision, POF, other mobile DSPs). My budget is $5,000 to $10,000. I know that most of it will probably be used up for testing and finding these good offers and building campaigns. But after that, things should start working out and money coming in, for everyone!

If F5Media has any offers that are adequate for my dating email lists, then I would of course also be mailing those as an additional way to generate revenue.

I'm new to mobile advertising but the point I am trying to make is that I am serious about it and I will work hard to make it work! I'm a member of STM also.

Question 2: Do you have any LPs you can show me with live links at the end?

I need help with this one. I don't know what LPs are and how to approach this question.

Question 3: Any Geo's you prefer to work with or specific verticals?

My preference is to work int he European markets. I'd like to start with smaller markets like Belgium, Luxembourg and then get into the Netherlands, Germany & France. I am fluent in all those languages and know the local cultures, which can help a lot when developing campaigns and choosing angles for the ads.

In terms of verticals, I don't have a specific preference at the moment. I will be looking for proven offers in any niche to try and find the ones that work best and are most profitable. Dating might be a natural place to start because of my experience in this niche with my email marketing business, but I guess it is also super competitive so I would not mind looking at less competitive offers with profit potential in other niches.

What do you guys think?

Also, F5Media would like to schedule a call with me. Any advice on the types of questions they might be asking and I have to be ready to answer?

Thanks. Your help will be much appreciated. I want to get this right!

LPs = Landing Pages. Typically, it will go: 1 .Your Traffic Source (banner ad / email / pop) --> 2. Landing Page (designed to encourage the user to sign up) --> 3. Offer --> 4. $$$

What do you guys think?
Relax You'll be fine.

Did that call some days ago.

Its nothing to worry about dude.
Its just a call to clarify you are not any moron that want to do bs. Just be open and honest.

for the LP question, just say the truth. I said that i currently run only direct linking campaigns.

They are not there to judge or to grade you.. just to talk to you

No worries - you are a part of STM which I believe is a BIG advantage. Just relax and answer honestly.

Thought i'd chime in as i'm the network director for F5 media, and explain a little bit of the application process. Like everyone said above - it really isn't scary - we just are trying to figure out how we can best work together and... frankly to ensure the application is not fraud or going to cause quality trouble for our advertisers

Part of our application process is figuring out how much time our AM's can devote to your account. Affiliate Managers are all commission based [not just at F5] so you can understand they're incentivized to preference clients who can drive traffic. When you're running 10k+/Day, you'll be happy someone is watching your back and your traffic because at those numbers, there's a lot more at risk.

This doesn't mean we don't have a place in our hearts for the new guy - especially ones driven by the knowledge in STM - and we are more than happy to provide accounts to people on the mobile cookbook path of direct linking, but we will not providing you a dedicated rep until you start running traffic with the network. As soon as you drive a lead with us, you'll get an AM. You can email the whole network with any questions, creatives to submit for approval etc. - and one of the team will respond promptly - just by using advisor@f5media.com or network@f5media.com

The phone call is pretty simple really - we just need to make sure we have the ability to contact you directly should we ever need it [example: you're running to an offer, but the offer page crashed without warning and we want to tell you to pause traffic, or to redirect the campaign if possible to avoid you losing money]

And really - more will get done in a 5 minute phone call sometimes than a full day of back and forth on skype.

You're running a business now - start to the love the phone - it's your new best friend - it will empower you, promise!

Thanks for applying guys - we're happy and excited to help people on STM succeed in this wild industry

Hi Jaimmie,

My name is Thushanth and I am an affiliate marketer based in Vavuniya, Srilanka. I will be honest - I am relatively new to the world of AM.

That being the said, I am an eager learner and don’t need hand-holding. I am a member of the StackThatMoney forums so have plenty of learning resources available and support for most issues.

I am most interested in the Health & Fitness, Dating vertical and CPM, CPC, CPA, PPC, PPV and more as traffic sources and am keen to see what offers Network has available that may be suitable.
