How to test banners that link to landers and link to offer?

Hey guys

I have followed steps in the tutorial provided from setting up tracking Decisive + LP + Banners + Voluum

I just curious that how can we test the banners links?

From my understanding,

people click from our banners > Landers > Offer page download

Is there a way we can test it out before launching the campaign live?

Thanks

Of course, simply load the url you use for banners in your browser. In some ad-networks you can also view the banner and simply click on it.
Just note that many affiliate networks have GEO redirects in place so to really make sure you land on the proper offer, use some proxy like HMA or any other VPN tool.

Thanks for the prompt reply. I'm new. May I know where can I get the banners URL? Is it from decisive?

Exactly so!

If the offer doesn't load correctly the first time, as Matuloo says, the thing you should do is make sure that you appear to be browsing from the country to which the offer is targeted.

To do that, sign up for a proxy service like Hide My Ass, and use their software to make your browser appear to be in your target country.

Banner URL: it's the URL you enter for your link in Decisive.

Alright. Understood. But to know whether it the geo redirects problem, we have to collect data and view the stats on the report before we fix it with HMA vpn. Am i right?

I'm targeting Du speed booster in Singapore only.So if data shows other countries, means i have to fix it with HMA?

Geo-redirection works like this:

Offer is for DU Speed Booster (Singapore).

If you load the affiliate link and you are not from Singapore -> get sent somewhere else.

There is no need to check anything first, just connect to a Singapore server with your VPN before you try to test the affiliate link (or the campaign URL).

If you're planning to use Hide My Ass, here's their Getting Started Guide: https://support.hidemyass.com/hc/en-...th-HMA-Pro-VPN

Otherwise, here's a guide for using FoxyProxy: http://getfoxyproxy.org/quickstart.html

What a VPN service like hidemyass is doing, its actually changing your IP adress that identifies you as a surfer. When you connect to the internet, you are assigned an IP by your internet service provider, so any site, application or whatever that you connect to, can get your IP and figure out some info about yourself, such as, what country are you connecting from. A VPN app simply changes this IP adress to one of their private proxies, so it looks like you actually connect from the country of your choice, you will actually pretend you are connecting from Singapore in your case. So any offer that checks the surfers IP for GEO targeting purposes will now see you as a Singapore surfer. Hidemyass has a long list of countries you can use. Pretty much all ads are geo-targeted now, so in order to see what is advertised in a given country, you need to use a VPN to see it. Want to see whats advertised in sweden? Selected sweden in hidemyass, browse any site and you will get swedish ads ... etc.

This is only about what you see when surfing tho, nothing to do with the traffic you buy, you have to select this at your traffic source. You asked about how to check if the links are working in your original questions, so thats why I suggested to use a VPN so you can pretend you're from a country that the offer wants. Otherwise it might redirect you to some other offer and you might think there is something wrong with the links.

I would suggest you do some more reading, right now you sound pretty confused about all the basics. You really need to understand what a banner url is, whats a VPN, how geo targeting works ... all the basic stuff that confuses you right now. Or find someone who can guide you through the basics to save some time. Either way, you need to master the basic principles before actually attempting to run any campaign.

Good luck.

You should really try to figure these things out yourself.

If I told you to use Photoshop for example, I don't then want to lead you through where to download it from, how to install it, minimum system requirements, how to open it and make a new file, etc.

There is a decent amount of info on VPN services in the Onboarding Guides. Just get HMA or Overplay and install it > test it. It's not hard to use.
