What is an Angle?

I have been trying out mobile for about 2 months now with really no profit. Which is okay I'm here to learn and improve.
So in the course of my short journey I have learned how to use photoshop, tracking, adobe muse and other technical stuff that's included in the business.
Now I want to further understand on how to make a profit and one thing a friend of mine suggested is to learn angles. Angles? Whats an angle?.
I've read threads on angles and from what I understand is that an angle is different ways I can sell people. I'm still kind of fuzzy when I say that. lol

My understanding of this subject is super limited and I would really like to improve on it.
First off I would like to ask STM a few question and I'm sure this will help a tons of newbies understand.

1. What is the definition of an angle?
2. How would you come up with angles with a certain product your trying to sell?
3. How many ways can you factor out an angle?
4. Is there a system when coming up with an angle?

Affiliate marketing is one of the most challenging thing I've dipped into. But I have learned lots and it has totally changed my perception of the world of advertisement and the industry itself.
Just wanted to ad that =D

My take on this is creating a "framework" with which I can brainstorm, I call it the "Angle Matrix"

Basically I will do a lot of research on the offer, competition, AM's, traffic sources where it's running, where it could be taken, etc. I also always find a backup/fallback offer to have at hand just in case before going deep into it.

Afterwards, when I have an idea what the product is about, I would register to it, download it, purchase it, whatever it takes to know what the user gets after they become a lead. So if it's a dating site, let's say you want to know where the pixel fires, what kind of users would be a better fit; if it's an utility app, what problems does it solve; etc, just to name a few of the hot trends.

Identify the "mainstream competition". If you are allowed to work with it, things like: Better than Facebook, Better than Craigslist, Better than Badoo, Better than Ebay, have proved to be effective.

This will give you the core qualities of the product you want to sell.

From there on, i fire up an excel file and start organizing the ideas.

Let's take a casual dating campaign here:

A column would be positive / negative adjectives: unique, exclusive, forbidden, private, hidden.
Another column would be type of site / product: community, social network, club, etc.
The comparison column: Badoo, Craigslist, Tinder, etc.
Keywords: neighbors, cheaters, desperate, married, etc.

Who are my target users? Men over 30+? Great!

Users: Married / Bored / Wife / Stressed / etc

Who are they looking for?

Females: Insecure, In a hurry before their husbands come home, experienced, etc.
Types: chubby, skinny, nerdy, etc.
Location: close, in your city, in your state, around the corner, in your barrio, etc.

Quick Angles:

Am I still pretty? Insecure married women from around the corner need more than words to lift their moods.

Tinder is not dead! But skip the date and go straight to bed!
There are (XXX) in your neighborhood looking for "whatever" right now!

Chubby & Hungry! Our thick girls want another type of stuffing this thanksgiving.

Is this your GF/WIFE/EX? With over 5,000,000 cheating women from #country, chances you find your wife here are over 75%.

Now, I know this is a very simplistic approach to a proper brainstorming excel, but hopefully it's understandable. Took me a few minutes to draft this here.
