just quick question about lander on voluum

hi i just wanted to ask quickly what am i supposed to put for my lander URL in Voluum lander section. My lp is loaded up on my subdomain at the moment. Would I put my subdomain URL or my click URL in my Voluum set up page? because what ive been told is The click URL found in the setup section is what is used on landing pages? just confused at the moment if someone could clear this up for me i would appreciate it thanks in advance.

You'd put your subdomain URL that points directly to the landing page, in the landing page setup section in Voluum itself.

The click URL goes into the landing page itself; it's where the visitor is pointed to, when they click your call-to-action button.

thanks for getting back to me ian. The click URL that goes into the landing page itself that your talking about? I made my LP in adobe muse im not sure if your familiar with the program but in my call-to-action button i hyper linked the offer page URL so when i tested my LP, I clicked on the button and it leads me to the offer page. Is this incorrect?

Yes, that is incorrect.

Think about this fundamentally: if you send someone to your Voluum link and Voluum redirects to your lander, how then is Voluum supposed to know when or if users click through on the lander? I can assure you it won't happen by magic.

Your landers need to send people back to Voluum so that it can then compute where to send them next.

Thus, your CTA links on your LPs should always be the click URL as found in your setup section (which will be the same for every lander and campaign).

so does voluum receive that link from your CPA and then send it on to your offer with tracking now via - campaign - offers and landers?
In regards to the postback url, that is defined in voluum - traffic sources - supplied from decisive and used to tell decisive about conversions? Where does this go outside of voluum?

Yes, correct @ tracking.

The postback URL for your traffic source, which you place in the traffic source config, stays within Voluum and need not be placed elsewhere.

You send a conversion event via postback URL from your affiliate network to Voluum and that's all - Voluum then passes the torch to Decisive using the information originally passed with the click.

hugs zeno, starting to fall into place for me more now - been going hard for a few days and was just feeling a bit overwhelmed yesterday haha.

so Voluum passes the tracking all the way back to decisive so data can be matched with conversions, just wondering does everyone tend to get their reports from Voluum or decisive in this scenario?

cheers

Voluum has certain data components that Decisive does not - e.g. you can see hour-to-hour performance, LP performance, offer performance (if rotating), can drill down by site ID > banner ID > model for example, and can see country data according to the tracker.

Decisive's advantage is that you can see true ROI/CPA for each banner/site/etc. in their stats. This is not possible in any click tracking system because you simply cannot pass accurate cost information when working on a CPM model.
