Hello everyone !

A little bit of introduction.. My name is Dan from Romania, i started my AM career in 2012.. i didn't had any knowledge but i'm a hard worker so i learned pretty fast lot of things.I started with PPD and CPA content locking and 2 years everything was amazing..Few months ago after all updates from the big G caused to lose traffic from all my websites (almost 50).Was a hard time for me because i lost almost all my income but i had some backup so was time to try other things.I'm addicted to Internet Marketing so i couldn't image to go again to my last job (hate that job anyway) so i decided to try PPC.I had some fails in start but that was because i jumped inside without to make my homework ! After months of reading and browsing here i decided to take action into mobile marketing and hope that is best decision because i wasn't sure what is better for me, mobile or desktop. I was accepted into F5 Media.. had a nice talk with my affiliate manager Jon which suggested me to start this follow along (thanks because of that). and gave me some nice tips and advices.

So my campaign is Supermarket Vouchers AU from F5media.Maybe here is a mistake from my side because i choose this offer for a country with not so cheap traffic and with big competition and my budget is not so fat, but anyway.. i hope to make understand how the process works and to understand my data. Following the Cookbook the process seems simple (in my vision) Good Offer > Attractive Banners > Good Landing Pages. 4 Campaigns in decisive Mobile App > Mobile Site and Wifi App > Wifi Site. Let the campaign run , collect data.. check what works and what not.. delete bad placements, keep the good ones and when everything seems all right scale campaign and bank. (correct me if i'm wrong:d)

Everything seems simple but complicated, especially at the beginning.. i spend almost 35$ until now and i got 2 conversions (i guess not so bad) but i'm feeling like confused now because i don't know what's the next step. I already prepared other banners (waiting for review) and i'm ready to replace the bad ones.

Now few questions some to make my mind clear and to set up my head in one direction:
What do you think about my Angles ? (i didn't promoted coupons until now)
What do you think about my Landing Page ? (it's copied from the web and modified a little bit)
After how many clicks without conversion from some app/site i need to blacklist that source ?
I realize that i don't get traffic from all sources.. is that because i'm biding to low ? (i started my bids at 1,50$ but after 2 days i realized that is to high for my budget and i lowered to 0,50$ for now)
I'm split testing the offer between 3 landing pages (same landing page but with different colors) should i add other landing page totally different or try to optimize this one (graphics, buttons etc..)

That's it for now i will try to update this thread with all my work starting from today

I wanted to update this thread with my latest stats and work

Supermarket Vouchers AU



I got 3 more conversions , 2 yesterday and 1 today

Overall stats for this campaign :
Total spent : $30.72
Return : $11.2
ROI : -$19.52

What i did :

I created more banners, this time i also made some GIF banners

Made some changes to one of my landing pages : added current day javascript to display the current date and countdown timer with message that vouchers will expire in 5 minutes
I created more campaigns in decisive with new banners (waiting for approval)

That's it for now, i'm waiting for more data to see how works this time.

What worked for me was: "Congratulations: You may have won (1) Woolworths Voucher"

Variants of that with lots of Woolworths branding. Woolworths is a much bigger brand than Aldi in Australia. I'm Australian and never heard of Aldi until I ran this offer...

It depends on the spend. Cut at 2x offer spend.

It's my lander and it was doing $400-800/day profit back in the day. You should probably come up with a new one, it's been massively over-saturated.

Also, keep asking for pay bumps. The advertiser can go a lot higher

Australia is very experience. You should focus on Independent sources, not DSPs.

When we first ran it, we had trouble on our own DSPs. But, when I re-ran it (see screen-shot), it was a lot easier. Probably because we changed our DSP around to include a lot of third-party data (Maxmind, meta etc).

When I say independent, I mean places like LeadBolt and Buzz City, where their inventory can't be bought by third-party DSPs. Initially, we had a lot more success running through them, but got more scale with our DSP.

Quick update for today , in the morning when i woke up i saw 4 more conversions and i spent $8,55 i made my first break event but the day is not finished. I will post full report tomorrow. Today i made few optimizations with help from Thuan (cafeden STM username) which is helping me via skype to understand my reports. I really appreciate that because for me is very important to learn my reports and to know when i need to take action.

I have some questions for users with more experienced in decisive.is . I attached a screenshot with stats form Voluum :

To blacklist tablets, choose "form factor" under the Decisive campaign settings. You can choose to only target phones there.

Spent : $9.53
Conversions : 5
Return : $11.2
Profit : $1.67

My first day on profit and i started to be optimistic. Not because i'm thinking at profits , because with your help guys i hope to understand how to optimize offers , how traffic sources work and so on.

Today's stats not looks good until now.. didn't get any conversion..i will look for more ways to optimize, new landing page, new banners.

Yesterday i made my first landing page from scratch and i'm very excited. From now i will run only my own creatives and landing pages, no more copies (hope so)

Stats from yesterday 20 November :

Spent : $9.29
Return : $4,48
Profit : -$4.81

My problem is to increase the CTR from landing page because with the old landings page was between 2,8%-3,5% . Hope to resolve that with the new landing page.

Today's plan :
Create more creatives to change the older who don't perform well
Train myself to make landing pages faster and to understand the essential elements for good CTR and CR
Looking for new traffic source where i can promote this kind of offers (any suggestions ?)

I had a busy weekend and i couldn't update my follow along. Things are working quite slowly.. i didn't get to much conversions because i lowered the bid to test the quality of traffic.

Overall stats from decisive for this campaign :
Total spent : 74.24
Return : 35.84
Profit : -38.4

The stats from my new landing page looks better than others i improved CTR but i need to work to improve the CR


My plan is to find good apps on decisive from where to get conversions.. seems to be pretty hard because i'm not used with bids and i need to test more to get good traffic.

Are all of the elements in that lander images?

You will cut down on file size substantially by using normal text and styling it with CSS.

Also, I would change the red text - make it light yellow/orange if you are going to use a black glow around it. At the moment it is blurry and difficult to read as it lacks contrast.

Yes, all are images. Thank you for suggestion, i will try to use only CSS for texts.

This was my first landing page and it's nice to have more suggestions because i'm in the learning stage.

As about my campaign, i had to pause it for the moment because i want to change my strategy. Until now i promoted the general offer with 3 vouchers but now i'm preparing the creatives to promote them individual. Each voucher will have his campaign.I guess in this mode users are not getting confused so they will get what they need.

I will update this thread once i have my campaigns online.

My supermarket vouchers campaign is on pause right now because i wasn't able to find a good angle but i have another campaign which i hope to be better for me.The offer is the same like previous, a sweepstake for Australia.

I have an angle, 8 banners and 3 landers for testing. The traffic source is again Decisive, i don't feel comfortable to change right now because i still need to learn how to optimize properly my campaigns and here seems pretty simple to learn.

I have plans to came at STM London so i need to make some money

I'm looking at my decisive clicks (529) and my Voluum visits (369) and is big difference, could be the time zone issue ? because if i'm losing these visits is not well for me..

My landing pages speeds are :
Version 1 : 597ms
Version 2 : 392ms
Version 3 : 63ms

All landers are with questions and answers. I'm using a VPS right now but i'm thinking to use CDN too.

Today i optimized my campaign by regions where people can find stores related to my offer, i guess in this mode is more targeted.I'm thinking to also try another angle related to the coming holidays.

Try to read Iamattila case study. He used some questions about a movie star to promote a voucher. Once the user answered he sent them to the offer. You should read that case study. I think you will get some ideas .

Hello blackemil, i read that case study few days ago.. seems interesting and i guess worth testing. Until now i promoted only the voucher itself , i will prepare something similar and i will update the results.

Compare lifetime stats so that time zones are irrelevant.

If you want to look at daily stats, just adjust specific time ranges in each platform to suit, or change their time zones, or just ignore it as at the end of the week the weekly cost/revenue will reconcile it all.

Are you using PHP on your landing pages? It seems to me that landing page design is not your strong point so you should put these onto a CDN asap to reduce load times.

I'm using html landing pages and you're right the design it's not my strong point. I'm still a newbie so i need to learn lot of things.

As about my campaigns, yesterday i created one more angle related to Christmas.

9 December 2014 stats
Spent : $16.72
Conversions : 2
Income : $4.48
Profit : -$12.24

Today i blacklisted few bad banners, i also created new ones for testing.It's a great learning for me , in almost one month i created over 50 banners and few landing pages. I still need to learn a lot about optimization and other factors.Maybe decisive is not the best traffic source for this kind of offer but i think it's great for learning.

I'm getting close to the break even after blacklisting some bad placements. I'm still stuck with traffic volume, i increase my bidding every day but i still get low volume. Tomorrow i will have a chat my a Decisive member staff hope to understand few more things related to the traffic source. Hope to don't expire the offer until i will optimize )

I will promote one more campaign for Christmas i'm waiting for creatives approval.

One thing is clear for me, from when i started this follow along i made new friends, i'm in a skype group "The Crew" where we talk every day about mobile marketing, i had talks with others from the same field, in conclusion with Jon's help (My F5media AM) i'm more sociable and that makes me to feel better than before.

That's a decent chunk of data there and a solid amount of conversions to start working through.

Are you stripping out the bad placements? Looking for trends with specific performing handsets or carriers etc? If you begin to cut the fat you might find you can make this profitable.

Yes i blacklisted few bad placements but right now i have some problems in getting traffic.. i have $2.5 Smart CPM BID and i don't know why i don't get better volume. I added my account rep on skype but couldn't catch him until now. Like now i guess my campaign will go nowhere.

In the meantime i tested my offer on airpush.. no results until now. On Decisive i'm spending like $5-$6 per.. there are days without conversions and days with 1-2 conversions.

These days i made a decision to focus on other things related to paid traffic, i will start with adult. I will update here one i have more information about my progress.

Hi all,

First of all i want to wish to everyone a Happy New Year and a great time in affiliate marketing ! After a short break because of holidays it's time to came back at work and get started again. All my previous offers was paused by network so i need to find new ones.

Last days i read a lot about strategies, offers, landing pages and so on.. but right now i'm feeling a little bit lost because i don't know what to promote.. before holidays i wanted to get started with adult offers but meantime i realized that i'm still living with my family, i have a small an 8 years old niece and she's almost all day in my room.. so right i can't work with adult.. i'm planning to move out but maybe later on this year if i can make some cash I was thinking to promote sweepstakes again, next day i changed my mind to dating, next day to pin sumbits.. a little bit mess in my head right now.

I want to ask experienced users how is better to proceed : launch 2-3 campaigns with landing pages and custom banners and wait few days for results , launch 7-8 different campaigns with direct linking wait few days, than if some campaign have potential make landing page and new banners to promote it.I'm looking to find a good strategy how to proceed... i'm feeling kind of lost right now because i'm not sure how to find a good campaign

In my mind i saw a successful affiliate marketer focused on something like sweepstakes, pin submits, adult, dating or doesn't matter try to learn it than make cash..i need to find my profile that's why i'm asking you guys how is better to proceed

The good news are that i already booked my tickets for STM London and i'm very excited because of that ! I can't wait to meet you guys there and introduce myself in live person. It's my first event (hope not the last) and i really hope to learn from experimented guys which will be there !

It's been a while from when i didn't post here and i want to apologize to the people subscribed to my thread (if there are someone, lol) because of that. Today is a special day for my follow along, last year in 11.16.2014 after weeks of lurking i decided to start my follow along and i'm really proud because of that. If you are new or even experienced into this industry but have no any idea what you're doing, just start a follow along and post your work inside, you will be amazed about how many people on this forum is open to help !

I want to say thank you to all people who read my follow along and also helped me with suggestions and ideas.This forum changed my life in only one year which is amazing, i still have periods when i don't believe what's happening, how things change so fast and so on.
