Are there any good AMs out there? Need advice!

This is a question and a rant at the same time. Ever since i started my aff marketer journey and i have interacted with some AMs i have only found one manager who seems real and is always around. All the rest of them are either not around, ignore people, give wrong info or just straight up done care.

Does it get better with time, or i just gotta keep going and things would get better? I dont know i have all this energy inside of me to get ahead and it seems like the managers that i have interacted with are just not there 100%

Can someone offer some advice on how to deal with the AM situation?

Thanks

Having the same problem brother. Luckily there are a million networks and traffic sources out there to keep trying. I have struck out with 9 out of 10 but it's always great when you find a helpful AM who will go the extra mile and prove that they are not all bad.

Also... spending more money / increasing your budget can't hurt. There is obviously a lot of money being made in the industry and the highest volume customers will probably get the best customer service. As those managers know where their bread is buttered.

You will definitely find AMs that won't bother unless you are running volume. But that's ok, it's usually the ones who help you out as a newbie that are worth sticking with.

Remember you can always ask for a new AM from the same affiliate network if you aren't getting the service you need.

It is important to note that AMs have limited certain hours in a day too. Their job is to get you set up with offers, give you information about them. But they certainly aren't a personal concierge service. As long as you respect their time, then they should help you.

Its easy to ask little to much help from them on skype

The people I work with are a-mazing. What kind of product(s) do you promote?

I think most affiliate networks are simply over-populated with pubs and can't keep up with all of them. Simply not enough AMs - given that they take anyone from the street.

Most of AMs I am working with are nice and are always ready to help others. My advice is to choose another network or another AM if the AM is not good.

Make sure your AM is in the right time zone.

If you're based in Florida, and your AM is in Europe, then chances are he/she will be going home when you're still working.

Other than that, don't be afraid to ask the higher-ups for a new AM.

You can understand why they would choose to focus their time and energy on the guys who are providing volume. But I think the network has a duty to set aside 'senior' affiliate managers for that purpose -- and to be fair, a lot of them do.

But then even if you get an AM who is specialising in helping new affiliates, he's going to be pretty busy.

Thanks everyone for the answers
here is what has been happening i will brake it down by network without actually calling out the network.

network 1 - guy totally cool but no mobile offers
network 2 - they have mobile offers and the guy responds but only listens to whatever he wants and doesnt want to let me send any type of wifi traffic at ALL not even for app downloads, if i talk about the subject he ignores me.
network 3 - got accepted 3 days ago, my manager hasnt responded once ever since. I applied for an offer its been 3 days and crickets
network 4 - applied for the same offer the manager told me he was gonna get back to me, crickets lol, i pinged him yesterday he ignored me or didnt see it
network 5 - my manager told me he was gonna get back to me with this same offer, never heard from him again
network 6 - i talk to the manager from time to time, i am trying to get into this network

basically i am trying to send this offer some traffic and noone lets me, and the one that lets me, only lets me send mobile traffic and its an app download.
also i am the guy that bugging my am constantly i understand they are busy, all i want is to at least run an offer..

if this behavior is perfectly normal then cool, i just get used to it

Looking forward to your thoughts.

Haha alright the common denominator seems to be this offer you are wanting not so much the networks. By the sounds of it, the offer seems to have very strict terms, some networks can't get it, and/or there is a cap.

This! Wish I would have taken Finch's advice sooner.

I finally got in contact with an AM in my area and was able to arrange a coffee meeting this morning on a rooftop overlooking Venice Beach. Not a bad day at the office. Not only do I have a million offers to start testing, but I also got invited to a Happy Hour / company party at the hotel next door to their office tomorrow night. I'll get to meet everyone at the company and start a real working relationship. Sure was a lot easier than staying up until 3:30 AM and having some AM in Europe ignore my Skype messages until I pass out lol.

I find this to be very 2 ways.

1. I've seen AMs be no help ever2
2. I've seen Affiliates harass the shit out of AMs with endless questions about things that AMs have no experience in.. like tracking.

Back to #1
- Sometimes you just need to prove yourself a little, send some traffic
- If you just know the AM is no help, ask for a new AM
- Test some new networks

I'd say avoid all people (not just AMs) that drain your energy like that. There are plenty of others out there...
I just signed up for a network I was initially looking forward to working with, but after talking to the AM this network now dropped straight to the bottom of my list: I was told running offers with lower payout is stupid and nonsense... NEXT

Lol i guess one of the skills needed here are patience

Admittedly, every AM is incented with commission so it's always going to be in their self-interest to focus on affiliates who are immediately driving volume with them.

People take days off, vacation, they get sick or have appointments - as a result we always have network@f5media.com and advisor@f5media.com - they go to all of our staff - and you will get a reply within 24 hours from someone at the network answering your question.

People encourage everyone to skype a lot - but seriously, it's a lot of "you online bro?" back and forth tag - try scheduling skype calls. Send your AM a calendar invite - they'll even get a notification to remind them of the call time. You'll be surprised how much more you can get out of someone on a phone call - they'll be paying a lot more attention to you at that moment. It also gets that personal connection, your AM will definitely remember you more this way.

at least try sending in some traffic & conversions, let them know you are at least capable or know some stuff.
then talk to them and explaining what you can bring to them rather than only bugging for everything you want. its a 2 ways communication.

This is also key.

It's a two-way street and it can't always be take, take, take - you need to put up to get some attention and most of the time, especially with the way AMs are incentivized with commission, they're going to focus on the affiliates bringing in the $$$. Just more motivation for you to push traffic and work even harder - show them what you're worth.

So send a little traffic, schedule skype calls with your AM and keep working hard - you'll get the attention you're looking for.
