Massive problem with scaling / existing campaigns

Hey folks,

I've got a problem that drives me crazy. I'm pretty new in the mobile media buying area, ran a lot of google search before.

However, I recently started two campaigns in the adult niche ($2 payout) which seemed to have some potential.

I ran them on two CPC well known RTB networks.

Here comes my nightmare:

I create like 5 - 6 banners / 2 - 3 Landers and upload them to the network. Setting the avg. cpc price and waiting for approval.

After burning like $100 I do the cuts, let only 2 banners alive and 2 landers. The banners and landers I kept alive have all some healthy ROI of +50 % at least and have definitly like the double of EPV than the bad banners or landers I've cutted down.

Next day or even the next hours the game begins:

EPV is dropping heavily down, landing pages which seemed to be a day before completele bad, getting better CR than my actually winners and the banners loosing also any great ROI they had.

This happens the second time for me with two different offers on two different networks and it drives me crazy, for real... Every time when I think (proved by my stats) I have some great winner combination like banner XY and lander XZ and I disable all the other ones, I'll get in the next few hours or days some massive drop in my CR.

My thought is that this problem is probably because of the "casting" algorythm of the CPC networks I'm using? When the banners are fresh they getting the first positions and drop later than down and I get the crap traffic? How to avoid that?

That's a possible explanation, yes.

Split test more aggressive CPC bids?
