The Mobile Ad Opportunity in Numbers ...it's really BIG!

My favorite graph for 2014: the mobile ad opportunity in numbers!

The graph shows the following:

% of time spent in media vs. advertising spending.
Let's say you spend 14% of your time exposed to advertising listening to the radio.
Advertisers allocate about 10% of their whole budget to radio (i.e. to you listening to the radio).

On average, the American's spend about 6% on reading print (but 23% is spent on print advertising). That's gonna die...

We spent about 12% on mobile (that's probably much higher today) ....but only 3% goes to mobile advertising. In numbers, that's about a gap of almost $20B! This gap will close ...and mobile ad prices rise.

HUGE OPPORTUNITY
Throughout the history of media (think of newspapers, radio, TV...), dollars eventually follow eyeballs, which means that the mobile ad pricing will rise.

Everyone who does internet marketing should read the KPCB internet trends report for the year.

The data is great at spelling out the "state of the union".
