3 - 5x the payout rule (5)

3 - 5x the payout rule

Is that offer or angle?

If it is angle then with 2 angels per campaign & 5 - 10 banners per angle on a 1 payout that would mean:
2 angles x 10 banners = 20 banners.
5 times the payout is 5 dollars so each banner gets 25 cents of traffic.

Is that right or is something off in my math?

Or is it 3 - 5x the payout per angle.

If an offer pays $1:

2 angles x 10 banners = $20
$20 per 5x rule = $100

Of course, this is not considering placements, OSes and more. Also, considering the angles on the 10 banners are focused to the landers, otherwise it could take a lot more.

I thought the way you intitally test is 3 - 5x the payout for the entire campaign?

Also what you are saying wouldnt work because the numbers get much higher much quickly when you add all that in. I cant imagine throwing 1k at a 1 dollar payout.

You definitely spend more than 3-5x offer payout campaign wide before killing things.

There are so many variables in mobile outside of the ones you creatively control.

When you take a step back and look at overall performance is up to you but I would suggest more like 20-50x the offer payout if it's paying out $3 or less.

For all you know there might be 50 placements that do well but only for tablets, and if you spent only 2-5x the offer payout, you might only get 500 impressions across all tablets before killing the campaign entirely.
