Hey.
So, I'm trying to dive headfirst into the world of affiliate marketing. Specifically, Mobile.
I have some of the basics set up. Access to a few affiliate networks. An account with Decisive.
I think I need a CDN for my banners. But, I'm not sure. I've been jumping around reading different threads - trying to find the answers to the questions I have.
My reality is - I'm a big noob. I'm like a kid playing an MMO for the first time. Except, I don't know I'm suppose to open my questbook. I don't know anything. And now I find myself in a big city and there's so much going on. I don't how to get back to the beginning, and I don't grasp - much less know...what anyone's saying. I feel stuck. I need you to say - "Hey, what the hell are you doing here? Go back to (so and so)".
I don't want easy answers to my questions. I don't want to be fed. I need you to help me learn HOW to ask the right questions. HOW to find answers.
My time, your time, it's precious. Can you take a little time to sideline mentor me? I have a lot of willpower and desire. I will figure out AM. I'm not here to make a million bucks. I'm here to prove to myself that I can make something work, even at one cent profitable - to prove to myself that I am not dependent on forever trading my time for money at a job.
Unless I change what I'm doing, I'm going to die with approximately 17,460 days spent working - assuming I die at 70. 6,665 POSSIBLY doing what I wanted. 2,145 of those passed under the banner of childhood and adolescence, where I had very limited control. I've had approximately less than 1,100 days of "control" (that is to say, when I woke up, to what I did, ate, and when I went to sleep) to date. I might be overestimating. And even in those free days I've had this far - well, I've squandered the vast majority. I got caught in the trap of "This is my one day off, I'm gonna do whatever the fuck I want".
What can I do, to get YOU to help me? Tell me.
So far, this is what I've done.
1. Requested an offer from F5-Media.
2. Created banners for the offer.
3. ----- Not sure.
Do I upload the banners to a CDN, and then upload each banner's link to F5 for approval from the offer owner?
Assuming I have approval, do I then take the creative's "unique link" and put that into
I feel like all this is extremely simple, babby steps. And I'm struggling with that. I finally have a job that gives me a "disposable income". I have no debts. I have no kids. I want to have free time. I want to choose what do in this life. I work six, sometimes seven days a week. I'm not going to just buy shit. I refuse to be like everyone else around me at work. There has to be something more.
Please, educate me. Teach me how to learn, because god damn, I'm awful at it.
A CDN is for hosting static content like images, css, js files etc. that you use on your landing pages. Banners are virtually always hosted by the traffic source that you are paying to use, so a CDN is not important here.
Anyway, you should start with the getting started guides. http://stmforum.com/forum/forumdispl...-By-Step-Guide
After that, get a better grasp on tracking - http://stmforum.com/forum/showthread...-Read-This-Now
Study some of the maths involved - http://stmforum.com/forum/showthread...ill-Make-Money
And review our glossary to demystify abbreviations used - http://stmforum.com/forum/showthread...n-the-IM-World
You're clearly quite new to this and the forum, so I'd recommend spending at least a week simply reading, taking notes and absorbing information. You should understand how things fit together before throwing money at a traffic source.
Completely agree with Zeno.
Read first, then setup tests. It's important to know what you're doing first before jumping in. If you start throwing money at campaigns without somewhat grasping the concept, you will be extremely disappointed and possibly give up. Some thoughts to keep in the back of your mind, dedication, patience, failing (learned improvements), and what kind of niche do you want to start with. The above forums will help you with a lot of the questions you have and will guide you in the right direction.
Good Luck and Welcome!
