Typical Volume Issues? (4)

Typical Volume Issues?

I keep running into volume issues with the offers/countries I choose to enter.

I'll find an offer, make it work, then try to scale and it turns out I was more-or-less capped on spend already. The offers I'm selecting are either niche offers or they are in Tier II countries. I've got a goal right now to send 30,000 clicks by Jan. 1 and I'm just having trouble spending money and getting clicks.

This happened on POF, now its happening again on Leadbolt. Maybe I'm targeting too narrow? Is this a typical problem for you guys? I want to stay away from the big Tier I areas because I'm still learning, but I'm a little annoyed I spend time learning a traffic source then I optimize/target myself into $5 spend per day which is just a waste of time.

How many traffic sources have you tried? If you're working with Leadbolt then presumably you could scale to and test 100 other mobile platforms that may have more volume in the geos that you're after.

Those are the only two sources. On POF I ran into the issue that my offer was too nichey (but was in Tier I country) and with Leadbolt my offer is in a country where I can't seem to get that much traffic.

I was thinking the same thing with scaling out the Leadbolt thing, I've got pending approvals in 5 different sources, but I'm wondering if there is anything I can do to assess website volume BEFORE I sign up for a traffic network, add the money, figure out the platform tendencies, etc.

It'd be great to see data on a bunch of networks and their typical traffic inventory so you can compare them for the offer/geo/angle you'd like to go for. Does something like that exist? Or does everyone just jump into platforms and test, test, test.

Platforms often have planners or information on their inventory.

You just have to look diligently, or email their support.

Some networks specialise in certain geos. However it's hard to give anything more useful that the information you can get directly from the traffic source. DSPs and RTB platforms will plug into multiple exchanges so the traffic is not static. It varies as they add/remove placements and even exchanges.
