Whats exoclicks average approval time on weekends?

11-01-2014 07:06 PM #2 mr vexos (Member)

Hey mate,

1) exoclick doesn't approve on weekends as far as I know
2) exoclick is one of the worst sources to start a fresh campaign, it's better for scaling
3) go with trafficjunky or trafficfactory

Exoclick does approve on weekends and exoclick is okay to start a fresh campaign....for me, Trafficjunky is better for scaling and not to start with

exoclick does in fact approve on weekends

from what ive seen, regardless of the day/hour, approvals rarely take more than an hour

I got account locked for security check on zeroclicks, no reply over the weekend hmm... pretty disapointed.

I personally haven't run any dating yet but one thing that always strikes me is banners that say "No nonsense, no registration" and then directing to an offer where...they have to register. Is this really a viable tactic and many people don't really care in the end?

Exoclick is one of the best source for adult mobile. Support & campaign approval is excellent. Quality of traffic varies widely from placement to placement. You can get large volume if you start RON but quality is low if you do RON.

Good info thanks.

Quick update: Two duplicate campaigns got approved over night.

I am getting a positive click discrepancy between my tracker and exoclick; I assume exoclicks reporting is deducting duplicate clicks from the same IP.

Banner Impressions Clicks (Exo) Clicks (Tracker) CTR (Exo) CTR (Tracker)
ts1 14,628 50 70 0.34% 0.48%
ts2 7,427 24 26 0.32% 0.35%
ts3 7,427 58 88 0.44% 0.67%
ts4 18,836 56 76 0.30% 0.40%
ts5 7,046 29 31 0.41% 0.44%
ts6 8,293 38 39 0.46% 0.47%
ts7 13,008 42 52 0.32% 0.40%
ts8 13,474 35 33 0.26% 0.24%
ts9 10,607 33 62 0.31% 0.21%
ts10 13,443 28 39 0.21% 0.29%
Overall 119,914 393 516 0.33% 0.43%
Lander CTR - 17.6%
Offer CVR - 6.5%

Analysis
The landing page is a weak performer and doesn't pre-sell the offer like a regular rules lander does. This has hampered my ability to gather data.
Banner CTR is quite strong but can't review individual P/L due to crappy lander.
As I didn't have any immediate LPs to throw up I have paused the campaign temporarily.

To do
Split-test offer between two networks
Test 2-3 different LPs
Switch to TJ to cut CPM prices in half

Overall initial data seems to be good. Banner CTR & offer CVR is good. There is room for improvement in LP. Never cut LP in CTR alone. At the end of the day Profit is all what matters so select best lander based on EPV of ROI.

Ahhh german adult wap, one of my all time favourites here haha!

Pretty cool landers man, have you tried split testing something a lot simpler as well? Its always interesting to see the difference between a simpler lander vs the very technical ones especially in adult.

Smitas nailed the head on your data, keep it rolling in still so we can get some more updates to better your next decision

11-05-2014 12:41 AM #12 jack45 (AMC Alumnus)

I took on Maynzie's advice and tried simple vs technical; glad I did!

LP3 I see everywhere so I was surprised to see it flop that hard. I'm still stuck with finding a good LP, in the past on web I could just rip a few and the CTR would be 30+%

LP1: Simple rules lander CTR:16.86% CR: 11%
LP2: Gifwall lander CTR:20.80% CR: 10% (Winner)
LP3: Questions lander (Choose Multiple Answers) CTR9.48% CR: 2.63%

I'm not going to provide stats for banners as I threw up a batch on TJ to quickly test, there are 2 clear winners though.

Analysis
Offer CVR has improved by 3.5-4%
LP CTR still needs to be improved

I got back some translations today for new landers. These landers make use of some tips I received from a conference for high CTR creatives so am hoping for a strong performance, though I won't be too hopeful as it is Wednesday

11-08-2014 04:48 PM #13 jack45 (AMC Alumnus)

Been a while since I posted.

I did a split test between rackspace CDN and my dedicated server. The dedicated server had double the CTR, its odd because rackspace CDN was coming up trumps for speed when run on webpagetest.org

Best lander currently:
Visits Clicks Conversions CTR CR ROI
3,317 680 114 20.5% 16.77% -14%

The ROI is based on a CPC of $0.08, however my actual CPC is around $0.10

Questions
How many leads should I generate and how much time should I wait before asking for a quality check?
What sort of CPCs for Germany can I get if I switch to a managed network?
A CDN is supposed to improve loading time right? Any suggestions to improve speed in Germany.

To do
Start using popunders and other extra monetization techniques
Keep split-testing

@jack45
love your journey… as I also learning on adult offers

Do you already try to lowered your CPM bid? it seem $0.7 CPM a bit high unless you're already have winning campaign

11-09-2014 06:28 PM #15 jack45 (AMC Alumnus)

@restart
hey man, glad my follow along is of interest.
I have switched to a different ad network and my CPM is now arond $0.27-$0.30

Landers

So I tried two new landers, first one was a straight click through to the offer page, second lander I switched some icons and optimized for speed. Both was variations of my best lander.
Original Lander: CTR: 20.5% CR: 16.9% -13.4% ROI
New Lander 1: CTR: 43% CR: 8% -14.5% ROI
New Lander 2: CTR: 16.6% CR: 18.6% -23% ROI

I think the New Lander 1 CR was a bit low as it plummeted right at the end, however it doesn't segment users so will probably be bad for quality even if it improved ROI. New Lander 2 I had hopes would improve CTR, oh well :/ Overall disappointing as I have been unable to improve either CTR or CR without the other variable taking a drop to counter-balance and give me a similar ROI

I decided to dig deeper into my data to find shortcomings, and found the following OS versions losing:

Revenue Cost ROI Traffic
Android 4.4 $72 $110.08 -34.59% 37.27%
Android 4.0 $0 $8.4 -100% 2.84%
Android 2.3 $4 $8.96 -55.36% 3.03%
Android 2.2 $0 $5.28 -100% 1.6%
iOS 7.0 $0 $4.72 -100% 1.6%
Overall $84.4 $137.44 -40% 46.53%
Lander Overall $258 $295.36 -12.65% 100%
The elephant in the room here is Android 4.4; 35% traffic yet similar OS 4.3, 4.2 and 4.1 are doing well.

The following devices are also losing:
Device Loss ROI
Galaxy S5 $14 -70%
Galaxy S4 $5.6 -15%
Galaxy Note 3 $0.16 -2.6%
HTC One $2.08 -34%
HTC One M8 $2.72 -100%
Sony Xperia 2 $3.04 -100%
Galaxy Note 2 $2.64 -100%
LG G3 $2.56 -100%
LG G2 $2.24 -100%

I don't plan on targeting specific devices or OS, however it might be worth trying to set up a different funnel for what I assume is a younger and more tech-savvy audience.

Banners

Now for the real bad; I had originally uploaded a bunch of stock banners to TJ and rounded it down to 6 converting banners so I could test landers. These banners include things that kill quality, words like no creditcard, free, free whats app sex and numbers. These also make up the bulk of my conversions Lesson learned.

Summary

I'm going to have to put the brakes and re-strategize given the major fuck up with the banners.

* Do proper analysis on sites/placements - learn demographics, keyword trends, etc
* Come up with angles and create a flow between banner-lander-offer
* All banners should be self-made and have fresh template and images.
* Focus on quality

Overall it kind of feels like I'm starting from scratch. Maybe I'm being a bit harsh on myself.

How is the dating offer conversion flow? a form where the user inputs his email etc?

If so, one factor you might not be considering is that Germany is still a very strong market for carrier offers (even when now it's not the one click billing gold mine it was 2 years ago).

Seems you are not doing any segmentation and optimization for carrier/wifi so it will be hard for you to compete with those doing it.

Real numbers example for a mix of redirects/popunders/banners campaign in Germany, EPC (earnings per thousand clicks), split per carrier:

Vodafone (VOD Subscription Product A): $12,38
T-Mobile (VOD Subscription Product B): $11,02
E-Plus (VOD Subscription Product C): $7,2
O2 (VOD Subscription Product D): $18,66
Wifi (Dating Product): $1.96

Seeing the huge difference in EPC per segment, unless you are only bidding for wifi traffic (and i doubt it as most of adult networks don't split it when selling), no way you can compete with those that split the traffic and send carrier traffic to VOD subscription products and wifi to dating.

For dating, wifi or carrier makes zero difference as the conversion flow is not dependant on it, so to send the gold carrier traffic to a dating offer is a waste of it in countries where carrier billing is still strong.

Segmentation is key in mobile, and then sending each click to the best converting offer based on that segmentation.

In adult that is easier than in mainstream, as in adult, a guy might be looking for a girl to fuck tonight and click on a dating banner, but if he is sent instead to a nice porn video, he will say ok, let's jerk off with this instead by now and will look for the date later.

In mainstream it's harder as there are a lot of verticals, and showing a shoes offer to a guy looking to buy soccer tickets won't work, so the banner must be more related to the final offer.
