Unresponsive Network Reps

Hey guys,

How do you go about dealing with unresponsive and slow network reps?

Example - I recently sent some creatives to get approved so i can run them, it's been 3 days now and i haven't heard back.
Example 2 - One rep promised to send me a list of their top offers a few days ago. Nothing.
And countless other similar stories.

I know these are just little things but when you're sitting there ready to work and you're waiting on this one person to complete a small and simple task they promised you, it gets frustrating very quick.

So is this sort of experience normal?
Do newbies have to prove themselves a bit before they start getting good service?
What's the best way to go about dealing with slow and unresponsive reps? Keep messaging them? Ask for a new rep? Let them be and find another network?

I don't mean to sound like a whinger but i don't have a lot of free time and hate wasting it waiting for these trivial things, (especially since it would take an AM 30 seconds to fix).

Depends what networks you are talking about. Some have close to zero support, some have super responsive support.

I invest time into networks that invest time in me.

I would just regularly ping them on Skype.

E.g. every day... "Still waiting on that offer list mate"

If waiting for creative approval be aware they may have to send things to the advertiser, and that's generally the slow part - when those creatives come back, a good AM would send that approval notice through immediately because they A) want to get it out of the way and not forget, and B) want you to send traffic.

I would like to say that i don't work with networks that have shitty support, but that's simply not true.

Sometimes networks with shitty support are the loosest in terms of rules, which is always nice. If this is the case, just keep bugging them for help. Mention your budget, sometimes helps

Yeh i feel the same way actually Mr G, if they're not willing to help me when im starting out then there's no way i'd run their offers once i start making serious cash.

I'll start doing that, polite but persistent. I'll try out a few networks and see which one's respond faster, which ones take their time, and then pick the one that fits best with me.

Hah yeh i've worked with those types years ago (crap support but very loose rules), they'll just approve anyone for any campaign and you can almost do whatever you want in regards to creatives

Lol yeh i imagine they'd be a lot more responsive if they knew you might be sending $1,000 worth of traffic a day to their offers.

When I started I had that problem at Adsimilis and I got a terrible rep there (anybody who's had her will know who i'm referring to) you'd send an e-mail and IF she felt like responding it would be a vague message weeks later. I had to request an AM change and they did it for me and put me up with an incredible AM. I worked with her for a long time and we're now friends to this day, she really did help me out A LOT so it's your income on the line man. I've had to request AM changes on quite a few networks, so if you two aren't compatible, or maybe time zones don't work, unresponsive, no knowledge of the industry you're working on and etc... you have to ask for it.

PS: Now I'm VERY picky about the AMs i work with. There are the 9-5 AMs that log off skype at 4:53 PM and there are the 24/7 AMs that are always there for you. Not saying they should be your slaves but i work 24/7 so guess who's getting the bulk of my traffic? All comes down to what your goals are. The 9-5 AMs are lucky if they get a reply from me on skype once a week, i'll only run their stuff if they have some exclusives or something but i'm not wasting time with people who aren't hungry anymore, it's not worth it.

Getting a responsive rep is like throwing a dart at a board with your eyes closed. Sometimes you get awesome reps that are on it - then they leave or shift accounts and you get a new one that is TERRIBLE....
although if your just waiting for creatives to get approved it might not be the reps fault if they are waiting for advertiser to approve it. So it may not be the network.

The idea of unresponsive AMs is mind boggling to me, even as an affiliate. Affiliates getting a hold of you wanting to setup campaigns is money. Why ignore money?
