Hi
I'm always looking to find unsold or low CPM targeting niches of interests to make fb advertising profitable in my italian viral blog. Sometimes i found the right article, with the right targeting where i get nice CTR and even low oCPM. While Sometimes, the most of the Times to be honest, even if the CTR it's quite good the oCPM is higher so it's difficult to get the ROI with advertising only.
This happen because maybe other BIG advertisers or competitors are running advertising in the same niche.
For this reason i'm asking here if exist a way or other external tools where i can find unsold or low competition targeting niches of interests so that i could make article in that niches with an easy win.
I know maybe i'm dreaming something impossible, but i mean a tool like a spy ad tool where I can know exactly how many advertisers are running ads in all facebook targeting interests so that it could be easy to find unsold or low competition targeting interests.
Any suggestions?
Don't think this is going to happen...
Firstly, if it did, and more than one person had access, it would cannibalise itself very quickly. Everyone would smash the cheap traffic and it would no longer be cheap.
Secondly, you are targeting people. People have specific interests. They are going to receive ads from broadly targeted campaigns anyway. So, if you find an interest that has a decent audience and not a single other person in the world is targeting that audience, it doesn't mean anything about how expensive that user will be to reach as they belong to many other interest categories.
Thirdly, there is no way for a spy tool to know what interests have been targeted to get an ad delivered to them. There are interests based on page likes but there are also ones based on more general behaviour. Then, of course, there is the possibility that the spy tool account has received an advert that is targeted at a specific demographic only.
Basically, it's a lost cause. Unless Facebook releases data on their eCPMs for specific audiences, you'll only find it by testing. They have their suggested bids but they aren't exactly very insightful.
It's not worth pursuing.
The suggested bids vary based on account history and often do not reflect the real CPCs you will pay or have to bid.
Thus, the values are of no practical use to other marketers.
