Campaign up to -50% ROI. Help me get Positive? (14)

Campaign up to -50% ROI. Update in Post #13!!!

I have a campaign I have been running on Decisive for a couple of weeks now. I have optimized and teated banners, angle and LPs.

I now have solid CTR and decent conversion. I have also blacklisted carriers, OS Versions and sites that have spent 2x the payout of the offer.

The only thing I see left is 135 pages of sites bringing traffic, but the ones that are left either convert or the majority havent reached the offer payout amount. I have been blacklisting sites with high CPC, adspend w/ no conversion and sites with extremely low CTR. Do I just keep doing that until every site is vetted and hope at the end the campaign is positive?

My remaining carriers and OS Versions have a good CPA, and my volume is still great. So, I dont think there is anything left to do but blacklist sites?

I would move the good sites to whitelist campaign and run them on their own. Budget/bid higher, scoop up all the inventory.

Blacklist them from the old campaign and use it to trickle in data on other placements. If they just don't have volume, there's little point waiting days just to find out if one out of a thousand might be able to give 100% ROI on $1 ad spend per day.

OK, I did what Zeno said and this is what I have for the past two hours:

My payout is $.46. So, I have about 50 cents profit right now ($4.06 total revenue). I am bidding oCPM at 22 cents. Anything I can do to get more traffic other than increase the bids?

Profit! Nice!

Well, Profit is increasing, but no volume.

I am now at $6.00 revenue. I only have $20 left in decisive. Is it possible they are limiting my impressions cause of that? Or is my oCPM of .22 too low?

If your account budget is below $50 then Decisive throttles traffic on the entire account.

Deposit more funds and you should be good to go!

By the way, Donte from Decisive made a post earlier about how the conversion rate on higher CPM placements can be much, much higher.

I would also suggest duping this placement and setting a low budget + the CPM (or smart CPM) bid a lot higher just to see what happens.

in the device category, there are 8 praram , how do I can track them all ?

8 prarams :
Connection Type
Carrier
Operating System
OS Version
Manufacturer
Device Name
Device Model
Form Factor

I have read the article hrere: http://help.decisive.is/knowledgebas...racking-macros
but not found the way how to track them....just see only

{{{device}}} Device type (iPad, DROID RAZR, Kindle Fire, ...)

What do you mean?

You just put these in your ad URL so that your tracking system is passed the data...

I added another $100 to the account a few hours ago. Still, no increase in impressions. I uped my oCPM to .25

These are the results of 24 hours:

My total revenue is 11.47. Total profit in 24 hours is $4.19.

It sucks to get a campaign to profit, but not be able to get more traffic out of it. I was hoping the increase in funds would increase impressions, but no. Neither has the increase in oCPM, although the increase was just 3 cents.

Quick sanity check: if you look at the planner, take the relative % of traffic that comes from your banner size, OS versions, carriers and anything else you have restricted with targeting.

How many daily impressions do you now have? Is it in the many millions or is it only hundreds of thousands?

Depending on the geo you can strangle volume a lot with targeting.

Also, check the placements - are there any with volume where you are winning none?

Im at around a 100 million mark with targeting. Looking at the sites I have targeted, I am in the 10 million impression range.

I am noticing that a few of the sites with over 3 million impressions, I have only 8,000 bids or so. No wins, but just bids. I am winning 75% of those bids.

As a test, I switched to manual CPM and doubled my bid to .45 cents. No traction after that either. Average CPM for the geo is less less than my CPM.

I am increasing my CR and decreasing my CPA. Total for just today.

I'd talk to Decisive support for a more specific answer.

It's possible that someone is bidding very aggressively on some high volume placements, leaving little for you.

Well, I am profitable! I am now making about $10 a day on this campaign. Here is some stat porn for the lifetime of this campaign:

Here is my question for moving forward.

After several days of running this campaign and a lot of money spent on targets, OS Versions and devices, would you -

1. Cut placements where CPA is a few pennies higher than payout?
2. Cut Devices that are a few pennies above payout?
3. Same for OS Versions?

I am trying to get all the profit out of this and as far as placements go, I have like 40 where they are just a 5-6 cents from being profitable, but after a week without coming into the green, should I cut them? Yes they are converting. Yes they are making revenue. But, at the same time they are losing me money.

THanks

How many banners and angles have you tested on those placements? And bids?

Break them out into their own campaign and try different bidding lower, testing other banners just on them, etc.

If they are really close to the green and have volume then you should break them out and try to force your CPA down with better creative content and maybe some carrier/device blacklisting.
