facebook friendly landers

I know google loves to see lots of content on landing pages

Is facebook just as strict on leaner landing pages? The goal of my landing page is to build a list, would a short form opt in page fly well with facebook or does it need to be a long form opt in page with lots of content and an internal link structure of multiple pages.

They care more about ad content and vertical/offer than they do about your particular lander style.

No QS like with Adwords.

An opt-in page will be fine as long as you have a privacy policy and aren't dancing around in one of their forbidden gardens.

Google and Facebook don’t like affiliates all that much.

After a couple of years, Google started tightening the screws on affiliates. Google has banned affiliate links, squeeze pages and so on for a long time.

Facebook will, too. Eventually Facebook will be as affiliate-hostile as Google.

I disagree that Google likes lots of content in a landing page ... simple answer: it just can't be a squeeze page.

Edgy affiliates, and advertisers in general, are already being kicked out of Facebook. In the early days, edgy advertisers were all they had. They accepted the money for a while, but as soon as Google or Facebook had enough legitimate advertisers, they kicked out the edgy ones.

From the perspective of Google – or Facebook – affiliates are disposable. “Thank you, Mr. Affiliate, for giving us so much money for these last few years. Now that you’ve helped us attract 'real' business, we’re done with you.”

My predictions:
- Facebook won’t allow squeeze pages for much longer. They will copy Google’s policy for not allowing squeeze pages
- For smart affiliates, Facebook will be the biggest traffic source for a long time

Solutions:
-If you use landing pages and got your own website, create in leadpages.net a few custom pages with your header and footer.
On Elance (e.g. Scott Max in China) you get this done for $100. You’ll be able to re-use your custom landing pages over and over again. We use it as well. Check out this LINK. That’s a custom leadpages.net template. It works even with Google!
