Hi All,
I'm having difficulties using Facebook ads.
My business is promoting local weight loss products and it only enables me to sell in Malaysia.
Therefore, i can only think of advertising on Facebook but due to their strict rules, i'm also having problems with that.
Can anyone guide me from here?
Please have a look at my FB page- www.facebook.com/malaysiafatburner
Thanks
you just promot your product by FB page? why don't you tried news feed?
Yeah. Can you please guide me for that?
Do i need to create banners or etc?
How and what should i do to get a good conversion rate?
Firstly, if you want to run diet/weight loss/supplements on Facebook, I highly suggest you 'clean up the act' i.e. make it far more compliant in the eyes of FB -- and other authorities that have clout and influence FB policy.
Legitimate businesses in this vertical who have tried and tested products have a hard enough time running on Facebook when they are in direct contact with them and run everything compliantly.
On your page I see this:
A header image that says "Lose 4 KGs in 2 Days" -- not really plausible unless you shed every ounce of water in your body and probably cut off your hand
The header also says "No exercise & diet by Dr Oz" -- is it at all smart to claim that there's no exercise, no diet, and that it's by Dr OZ??
Multiple page posts that say things like:
Lose 13 KG in 7 days -- about as exaggerated and patently false as you can get!
Lose 10-15 KG in 3 weeks -- not likely!
If you are asking things like "how to create banners" and "what to do to get a good conversion rate", I believe you are not in a place where you should be running diet on Facebook.
You could still try to grow the page organically by using typical 'viral' type ads but you will likely struggle with trying to sell directly.
Virtually every traffic source out there lets you target by country so consider running on display, mobile, search and pops. I'm not sure of the amount of competition for local products in Malaysia in this vertical, but if you do some research on your competition you may be able to position yourself strongly within the market (e.g. maybe there are few advertisers who supply internal to Malaysia = reduced shipping costs, etc.).
This is asking for trouble, not only from Facebook but also from FTC and other national regulatory authorities ...
Alright. Thanks. I will go through it.
However, i have another product which is called green alkaninizing . It has nothing to do with weight loss, in fact it deals with Gastric problem.
Since i have trouble advertising weight loss product, does this product i've mentioned about has problem advertising on Facebook too??
I'm thinking of creating a new Facebook page for the specific product. Do you think it works for increasing sales as well as collect data?
Not sure of the specific product but a lot of these types of offers will face similar problems on FB.
Does it make exaggerated or misleading claims? Purely based on pseudoscience? Completely false? (a quick Google suggests "alkalizing green drinks" are definitely in this category).
The FTC is a US body and they are mainly out to protect US citizens/residents, so if you are marketing in Malaysia to Malaysians, the FTC isn't involved.
But, you can be sure most countries have some regulatory body that wouldn't mind legally slapping deceptive marketers around.
