Exoclick bidding problem

Hey guys, I am having a small issue with exoclick, hoping someone could shed some light. Everytime I place a top bid, whether it's a RON campaign, or for premier placements .. I get matched literally minutes later. This has been happening for several months now. I can only think of three things that may be happening .. 1) Competitors and/or teams sitting there monitoring bids every couple of minutes of the day/night -- 2) Exo's internal buying team using a bid bot -- 3) Some competitors employ bid bots --- Hoping someone can tell me for sure what this can be -- Either I can replicate their strategy, or figure out another alternative..

Thanks!

exoclick is known to have a fairly inaccurate bidding system. but then again, you could have entered a bidding war with another affiliate

always spy on your ads before adjusting bids to see if someone actually outbidded you or not.

Good point. Its just weird how this happens on every geo/campaign. My top bid gets matched within 5-10 min of me placing it..

never experienced that before. just out of curiosity, do you see the same thing when you switch between the old/new interface?

my guess its on exoclick's side. it might be worth lowering your bid to see if you are bidding much much higher than your competitors.

I see this happening too, especially when bidding on bigger premium placements, I simply stopped paying attention to it. Like angryoldlady stated, exoclicks bidding estimates are quite often pretty much showing bullshit numbers, sometimes it doesnt show anything at all. In the past I used to ask my rep over there for the top bids and it usually didnt match what the system was showing at all. When bidding in exoclick I always manually load the site in given geo via a VPN to see what place in the bidding chain I have. I simply try to stay in the top 5 or 3, there is no point in getting into a bidding war and trying to stay on the top of the line. Your best bet is to use their smart CPM option, bidding a bit below the top CPM shown by the system. So if I see a top big of lets say 0.30, I simply bid 0.25-0.29 smart CPM, which usually gets me a real CPM a bit below what Im bidding and Im still able to stay in top3. Watching bids and adjusting them is a task that would eat up half of my day which is simply pointless.

Could be smart cmp system
If someone else setup for example smart CPM bid over your bid you will be outbided every time until you outbid competitors smart cpm

Sounds to me like this is the cause. Smart cpm systems tend to have a 5-10 min lag time in which they kick in with a new bid. It depends how aggressive the user is getting tho, I wouldn't imagine the bid would jump so significantly that you wouldn't at least get a good volume of traffic. Most smart CPM systems work in increments of 1 cent or 0.1 cent unless the user has freedom to input a much higher bid over the bid beating him.

I simply think it just shows you your own bid as top one, thats all.
