Just became a member on STM forum today, read up on the " GETTING STARTED GUIDE IN 2014" and step 3 mentioned that i need to have at least one membership with one of the following affiliate networks such as : http://convert2media.com, http://www.f5media.com, http://ads4dough.com, http://neverblue.com, http://www.adsimilis.com. However, there are some required information such as "website urls", "typical offers" , "traffic sources" which i am unable to provide because i have just started out. How do i proceed from here?
Another question , I am a Singaporean and have decided to use POF as my traffic source, however they dont seem to have "singapore" under the country lists during registration?
For your website, you can use a business site that you have set up for this ad hoc - i.e. pick yourself a business name, buy a domain name, set it up and put up a generic corporate/agency website that looks nice and has contact details.
OR
You could just put www.i-am-a-media-buyer.com or dependsontheoffer.com - they will understand - media buyers aren't publishers who have websites they want to monetise and many affiliates won't have or want a company site.
Typical offers, just say what verticals you are interested in, e.g. gaming, mobile apps, lead gen. For traffic sources you can put some you are interested in, e.g. Facebook, mobile display, etc.
Everyone has to start somewhere.
These forms are the first point of filtration for networks to eliminate obvious scammers but really they are just looking for honesty and clear answers. It is getting on the phone or in touch via email/skype that is going to be much more important.
When that happens, just be honest - say you are relatively new to affiliate marketing and eager to learn, are a member of the STM forums (we do have clout!), you don't need hand-holding but would just like an AM who is OK with a few newbie questions now and then and someone who is not yet running volume.
hey thanks zeno! sorry for the late thanks . Was really busy that i never refer back to this post. I just got into appflood as my affiliate network because my friend helped refer me in. Working on some campaigns now and hope i can get into more!
