What's going on STM! I'm new to affiliate marketing and after a lot of reading, I think its time for me to get my hands dirty and start running some offers. I have no background in any kind of marketing so excuse me if I dont understand some of the lingo you guys use. Any help would be appreciated!
Offer: Dolphin Browser
Payout : 0.30
Country : Haven't decided yet, but definitely a tier 2 country
Tracking :
Traffic Source : Decisive and airpush?
My goal here is not to make money but to learn how to run campaigns on mobile, so I will definitely try to be as detailed in every post as possible.
Homework for the day is creating 2 styles of landers.
Question : Would it be a good idea to use adobe muse to create my landers? A friend of mine told me writing down the scripts manually would be better.
For mobile it's definitely better to write code by hand or do responsive design but it's not necessarily practical, especially if you don't have the coding expertise.
For that reason I suggest you use Muse and just design a simple portrait lander and go from there.
Better to get some experience and get something out on the field than spend weeks trying to get it 'ideal'.
Ya thats exactly what I was planning on doing. Im gonna just test a cpl styles on muse now and if i find a winner, I'll find someone on fiver to write the code for me. Yesterday I created 2 different styles of landers. Today I should have 10 banners ready to go. Hopefully i'll be live soon!
What I've done so far is create 2 landers + 10 banners. I'm going to try airpush and also inmobi. On airpush I am going to do popups, but I was reading the size and it was 728x90. Can somebody please confirm if that is correct. That's kind of to big for mobile isn't it? Even Inmobi had sizes that go up to 1280x800. Also, for some reason when I click on my unique link on my network, it takes me to a DU batter saver offer instead of my dolphin offer. I tried talking to my am about it but so far no reply.
728x90 is a typical banner size, popups are usually full-page and don't have a set resolution on mobile. I am not sure on AirPush's offerings to be honest.
As for your affiliate link that's just simple geo-redirection. You're likely not from the right country - so check the link through a VPN.
You should have a default path in your
You will need to add the Dolphin browser Google Play Store or iOS store URL as a new offer.
So I am struggling with the technical side of things. I got 2 landers I made on adobe muse. My problem is that adobe muse saves everything the same. So my first landers files are labeled the exact same names as my second. My scripts, images , every folder is saved the same name as the first lander. So how do I upload both of them at the same time so I can split test them properly?
Also, I tried the trial of geo-edge and my unique link still doesnt load up properly. Jeez, I hope learning the tracking side of things is a lot easier than this lol
Just make a new folder on your server/CDN container...
It's exactly the same as your file system on your computer. If you had two different landers with the same file names and you wanted to put them on your desktop, you would just make a folder for each one, no?
Then you will just access them on the internet via URL/lander1/index.html and URL/lander2/index.html
Which unique link are you referring to - your affiliate link? So you tested it through an appropriate VPN server and it did not go to the right destination? Try selecting another VPN server.
hey, I faced this prodblem before. then it's because the cap of this campaign is full on network, so it was forced to jump into another page.
for you, there are other two possibility. first, maybe your unique link was wrong in your server. second, it is likely to have something wrong with your browser.
Alright guys, I really appreciate all the quick replies im getting from you guys! So after reading some nice guidelines of mobile banners, thanks to mr green, I went back and re-did my banners. So right now my setup is 2 landing pages + 5 banners. It's hard to be creative on a 320x50 banner lol. Right now I am waiting for mobfox support as I am having issues adding funds to my account. The goal is to be live tonight though.
Also I am still having trouble loading up my unique link. I have tried geo-edge and also hidemyass. I tried it on google chrome and also on internet explorer. I guess its not to big of a deal as that link would take the users in the country I will be running in to the correct page anyways right? My affiliate managers never reply to me lol I guess they don't like to deal with stupid questions.
The offer takes 8 geos. I chose to do Turkey.
So Mobfox finallly accepted my deposit. Unfortunately my results are terrible.
Banners
Spent about 4 dollars on each banner. Averaging about 1.25% ctr.
Landers
I got zero click throughs. Samsung androids got the most visits so is it safe to say, I should be creating my landers for androids? The angle I used was just an "update your browser". How do I know if its the angle that's not working, or if its my execution?
Have you loaded your campaign link and tested the clickthrough yourself?
You should do this for every campaign.
It will at least confirm whether you have it set up correctly.
Ah, yeah, the old "offer has vanished" problem. One of most affiliates' pet hates.
Codeacademy is indeed fantastic. I've had one of my contractors running through a couple of the coding tutorials for the last month or so, and he's picked things up really fast.
Alright so I ran a camp and I don't think I am using
I ran 10 banners that all look like this but different head lines

On mobfox I bidded .50 cpm, and spent about 2 dollars on each. My best ctr for a single banner was 2.08%. As a whole
Impressions : 38347
Clicks : 653
Ctr% : 1.70
And 1 lander

Voluum says I got 325 visits, 0 clicks, 0 conversions
Cake says 90 clicks, 4 conversions.
First things first I need to figure out how to get voluum working properly. Other than that what do you guys think of my stats? Did I spend enough on each banner? Opinions of my banners and landers?
If you are direct linking, each redirect counts as a visit only.
If you are using a lander, each user counts as a visit and if they click through on your lander, they register as a click (the click:visit ratio then gives you a CTR).
Since you have 0 clicks registered and no conversions tracked, I believe you may be using the wrong link in your CTA button on the lander.
If you want to track clickthroughs and conversions, your CTA needs to send users back to
Make sure the CTA URL is hxxp://abcde.trackvoluum.net/click - i.e. the click URL in your Voluum setup section.
