Servers and Landing Pages

Hey bros, I also posted a similar thread in the mobile section but I think it may be suited to this section better, I have several questions which I hope some experienced bros can help me out with!

1) For servers, I have heard people say that when I am starting off, I need a server for my landing pages and an additional server for my hosting. I am confused about this part, does that mean I need to purchase 2 VPS servers? or just 1?

2) Also, for every landing page does it mean that I need to get a new domain or just use the same domain such as www.confused.com and for my landing pages I can upload all of them by doing www.confused.com/landingpage1 and www.confused.com/landingpage2, etc.

3) I am getting into mobile marketing and have decided to use Voluum for my tracker, I have also heard people tell me that with Voluum.com, I don’t need to pay a few hundred dollars a month for a dedicated hosting server because it is already included. Does that mean that if I am using Voluum I will not need to purchase a server at all and I will not need hosting at all?

Hey, to answer your questions :

1) You need just 1 VPS
2) You can put all under 1 domain, it won't really affect the ROI
3) Even if you use Voluum, you will need a VPS if you want to use landing pages. Only if all your campaigns are direct linked you can skip a VPS ( even though I doubt it's possible to avoid landers at all).

I will purchase a VPS starter kit from Beyond Hosting. To upload my landing pages to my server/domain I would need to use Filezilla, am I correct? and then link it to Voluum after I have uploaded the Landing Pages to my server/domain right?

Is it fine to start using Voluum with the noob plan ?

Since you cannot have your own domain and heard Voluum urls are blacklisted in many sources..

Is it true ?

Sounds like lies to me.

I'd love to know what traffic sources have been stupid enough to blacklist the root domain of a legitimate tracking system used by marketers from every part of the spectrum.

Might as well blacklist .com .net and .org and demand all advertisers use the .agency TLD.

Getting fed misinformation as a newbie was a huge reason I wanted to be involved with STM. Misinformation is chronic disease in the affiliate marketing world.
