Quick ocpm question
So the sick part about ocpm is Obv that it optimizes your targeting to a certain degree for you.
Say you have an ad though that's been running for a week and costs have come down substantially. Now you want to test a few new images...
Is there a way of launching identical ads with new images that can start with the optimization data the old ad has already collected to this point?
I thought this could be done by linking the new ads to an existing pixel I had already been running but this doesn't seem to be the case.

The oCPM system optimises at the ad group level.
So, separate ad groups use separate data.
If you want to use the historic data, just put the new ads inside an existing ad group.
Not ideal when it comes to budget delegation but you have to take the bitter with the sweet...

Hm...what would happen then if you had CPC and oCPM ads within the same ad group?

I imagine it would still be fine, though I usually wouldn't combine them.
They are about to reshuffle and move lots of ad-level targeting options over to the ad set level.
I can't recall if they are moving bid mode over, but if they do, this wouldn't be a situation you could get into anyway.

Actually this seems true for me. Changing the campaign to bid for website conversions and using the pixel will carry into newly created campaigns for me.

I'm not sure on that one, it certainly makes sense but at the same time conflicts with the known ad group-level optimisation of oCPM.
Since oCPM requires a conversion pixel to work
properly, the optimisation could then not be compartmentalised at any level as the conversion pixel would be shared.
Example: you run a campaign for X and you split FB campaigns into Male, Female, different ages, etc. If you used the same conversion pixel across all of them, then the data obtained from the Female 30-40 group might poison the optimisation of the Male 18-21 group?
