CPV Lab and Peerfly weirdness (12)

CPV Lab and Peerfly weirdness

I find that using the test link from a CPV Lab campaign straight into a browser sends the click through to a Peerfly offer as expected. BUT if I click from my lander it comes up with "invalid offer. Redirecting'. I thought it may be a geo problem as I'm in the UK and the offer is for US traffic. So I used a US proxy and got the same fail.

Substituting the Peerfly link for another network offer in the CPV Lab campaign clicked though OK with no change to the lander.

Anyone else had this weirdness?

Talking to Peerfly is a waste of time. I get more help from my cat. (thanks Fluffy)

what about other peerfly offers? and are you using the long URL or the short one?

I'm using the long link. Tried several Peerfly offers with the same problem.

Never had that issue with PeerFly. What offer do you tried maybe I can give it a go on my cpvlab installation...

It's 'One Second Needle'. See how it goes for you. Thanks for helping.

hmm. i just tried myself and had the same issue.

im in the uk as well, but even with US vpn i still get the same msg

ie

this offerP: https://peerfly.com/members/seeoffer.php?id=3664

takes me to the "not available" msg and then a multi offer page.

so i checked my vpn settings and noticed that although my vpn was on, and i had ticked the option to "send all traffic via vpn" that my ip was still listed ad UK.

i then checked the vpn settings and saw that the DNS wasnt set which is a requirement for Strong VPN. I changed this, and it now appears to be working.

However, it could also be related to OsX Lion if your on a Mac with Lion as well.

Hope this helps

Thanks for the info tijin - much appreciated. I am using Hide My Ass on PC.

I wonder if DirectCPV (my traffic source in this case) was testing from Canada or the US mmm .... maybe this is why it bombed for them? But as to why it bombed for me via the VPN ..... I really don't know. Can't see why pasting the Peerfly link directly into the browser worked but via CPV Lab didn't. Guess I'll give Peerfly a miss and continue with my other networks. Can't waste time.

I use CPVLab and Peerfly extensively.

the outbound link from your LP is probably base2.php? Because of this you need to use the original tracking link to get to the LP not the actual LP address otherwise CPVLab will not know where to send you. Imagine that you are tracking 10 different offers. CPVLab will be getting hits on base2.php from tons of users and the only way to know where it's coming from is for it to have the initial variables that it gets through the first tracking link- then assigns it to the correct campaign and routes it accordingly.

I was once testing two different paths at the same time and I would get the wrong offer to pop up because of this. Make sure you have the additional javascript added to your LP as well. I'm not a super codehead, but CPVLab tracks your session or sequence (not sure what the right word is). If it's missing the first step, it will likely get confused.

If you're not sending traffic directly to your LP using a tracking link, I know you can add code to your LP to track direct traffic as well. I haven't tried it, but adding this code will probably solve your problem, although i think its just a misunderstanding of use as you are using the tracking link only?

That was my first thought as well.

If you go directly to the lander URL instead of using the CPVlab url it is not going to redirect you correctly. I don't know that it's what is causing your problem but I use CPVlab and have alot of traffic going through Peerfly without any weird problems.
The VPN adds another layer of complication but try it with the actual CPVLab url to your lander, not the direct URL and see if it works.

Many thanks for your replies guys.

The lander has (IMHO) four main areas where a user may click. I wish to track them all and use a multi option campaign within CPVLab for this.

Each lander link is in the form:

Code:
 http://mytracker.com/tracking/base2.php?id=1
where the id is the number of the option within CVPLab.

Before the lander </body> tag I have:

Code:
<input type="hidden" id="hidLocation" value="http://mytracker.com/tracking/" />
<script type="text/javascript" src="http://mytracker.com/tracking/landing.js"></script>
I've also tried with the additional direct tracking code too.

I am using the CVPLab url not the direct lander url ... so ..erm ... I'm stumped at this point. Grrrr ..

If nothing works for you, try rebuild your campaign as a "Landing Page Sequence Campaign" and use just 1 level.

Then use these options:
Lead Capture in Sequence: YES
Thank You Page Tracking: OFFER

Or just shoot a mail to Robert or Sam, they'll help you as fast as they can.

Thanks bstrd. I'm going to send a series of screenshots to Robert & Sam so they can tell me where I've been a idiot. Should get a long list back LOL.
Teething troubles really. Just need to feel my way around CPVLab as a new user. Soon be off and running with multiple option stuff!

Onward and upward ...
