Well Mailchimp just gave me the kick after 3+ years of being a customer.
This was due to sending one email promoting a clickbank product to a list of 500 people!
I am currently growing our main list at 2k+ new users per day.
Does any one know a good alternative to Mailchimp?
I am currently looking at GetResponse but they are double the price considering you have to pay in £gbp.
Scrub that, apparently Mailchimps new changes makes it so you can no longer use ANY affiliate links in emails. Wow...
Not entirely: http://kb.mailchimp.com/accounts/com...s-in-mailchimp
I used verticalresponse.com and getresponse.com. They also kicked me out recently because I promote affiliate offers.
I think only AWeber accepts affiliates now.
awebber or icontacts are similar. Sendgrid and Amazon SES are a little more involved but good if you have a separate email platform and reliable list. Could you not setup a 301 redirect or use a shortening url tool to semicloak the links?
Join Aweber and never worry about it again. There's a reason big affiliates have been using Aweber for years... you can do (just about) anything you want.
I would say aweber is one the more strict ESPs actually.
If you were using mailchimp for that long and just now got banned, I would definitely say go one of the few: SES, Getresponse, Sendgrid, Mandrill
In not particular order, Get response is the only one that won't require you to host your own software, they have a very good platform though and reasonable pricing. As long as your metrics are in place and you don't use any super spammy keywords or links you shouldn't get banned.
You said your list is growing at 2k a day, if its much beyond 200k in size I would go SES or Sendgrid Lite, but you'll then need to use something like interspire or oempro or one of the many other platforms.
Any other questions feel free to PM me.
I was using sendy.co (self-hosted app, one time price $59) + sendgrid. I was getting 90% delivery on a list of 200,000k.
It's dirt cheap and worked great
If you're growing your list 2k+ subscribers a day and anticipate that it will keep growing for the next few months, then you sooner or later you will be kicked out of aweber too when your sends reach high volume. They are strict about spam rates. Anything above 0.1% they don't tolerate. Better get yourself a mailing software and host your list on your own server. That is the ideal way to do high volume sending. You can read my post on how to do you own mailing. Good luck!
