Any REAL money in Building Mobile Apps??

Hi Everyone..

I was wondering if there is any REAL money in Building Mobile Apps....and also which building app software would you highly recommend not only in regards to being user friendly but the price is a factor as well.
Also what platforms should a newbie be starting with?
Anybody have any experience in this area and is willing to share?
