Email Submit Lead Gens definitely work, with the right traffic. I ran high x,xxx/day with F5 email submits in the past, and I know they still work, regulations have changed in general but they convert - just depends how creative you are.
Ask for the top offers list from your affiliate manager, you'll find a lot of email submits towards the top.
