Prosper 202 question

Hello STM,

I have a few questions about prosper tracking.

So right now I picked out an offer and have created 6 different banners for this. I plan on using POF as my traffic source.

I am direct linking to my offer, so my question is do i need 6 unique tracking codes from prosper 202? That means I will need to make 6 different campaigns for each? Is this correct?

Also I am confused about the subid and c1, c2, c3. What are these values supposed to be for?

I followed this video tutorial online to set up my campaigns. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D2n_giETAIM

No, you do not need multiple campaigns.

Split campaigns at the highest level possible. E.g. make campaigns like Dating Angle [US] / PoF.

The purpose of the c1, c2, etc. values is to pass data. Data like banner name. Data like age bracket. Data of any time you want.

You this use the same core link for all ads - your campaign link - but you change the values of c1, c2, c3 and so on for each banner/campaign at PoF.

E.g.
c1=31-40&c2=banner1&c3=F
c1=31-40&c2=banner2&c3=F
c1=31-40&c2=banner1&c3=M
c1=25-30&c2=banner5&c3=M

Do you mean the [[subid]] token and the subid generaetd by p202, or just in general?

Do read Caurmen's tracking tutorial if you haven't already - stmforum.com/forum/showthread.php?17819-Want-To-UNDERSTAND-Tracking-Read-This-Now

A subid, in general is a term used in the AM world for what are called key/value pairs that make up part of a URL called the query string.

E.g. blah.com?s1=something&s2=something_else

The part in red is the query string data (string of data after a ?).

In AM, we call s1, s2, s3 etc. subids - so we say we are passing click ID with the third subid, or we ask what the structure is for passing subids, etc. It all relates to this stuff in affiliate URLs after the ?

In prosper202, for whatever reason, they decided to give click IDs the name 'subid'. Whereas most tracking systems call them clickIDs or uniqueids, etc.

In p202, each click gets a number generated and attached to it (e.g. 171) and this is called its subid. We pass this number on to the aff network using the [[subid]] token and in the postback URL you give it back (hence the ...subid= part in the postback URL).
