Hi,
I just found something that should everybody that is using Voluum should know about:
http://Voluum.com/wp-content/uploads...edia-Buyer.pdf
Sh*t.
Wow, Codewise sure can write a job description. #CopywritingEnvy

Hey Guys,
We're a transparent company - I don't hide the fact that my background is in affiliate marketing, it's this experience that led me to launch ZeroPark and
The above URL is not actively linked to as the job posting has not been valid for a while. We were looking to replace the one media buyer that we had hired early last year, hence the February date. This did not work out and we no longer do any active media buying. I'm the only 'media buyer' left in my company, but I need and want to focus on managing Codewise, a company of 35 people.
I would not be foolish enough to look at peoples campaigns, to lose what we've worked so hard for over the past 2 years. If there's one thing I have learned from AM, it's that shortcuts for a quick buck are not worth taking. Anyone who has met with us (and I've met many people from STM) can attest to the fact that we are working hard to improve the AM space, not proliferate the negative aspects.
If anyone wants to discuss this further with me, please contact me via PM.
Best,
Robert
Come on zeropark guys, the Greek sun god is Helios, not Apollo.
If Robert says he's not media buying or his team, I believe him.
I trust Robert !
I believe Robert and the company will not do something shady like this to ruin their reputation.
Let's take a look at the link:

It was posted in Feb early this year. Apparently Voluum has grown to another level 6 months later and the bright minds behind it are being nominated as Europe Web Top entrepreneurs Award 2014 as well.

Would I still hire media buyers to "steal" affiliate campaigns, that could make me $xx,xxx profit a day (as if we do not know that campaigns are fragile) or would I build up the fame and profile running a legit business that could be sold for $xxx in millions in the near future?
The team behind Voluum is brilliant and they know what they should and shouldn't do.
I'm not bias towards anyone on this but personally, I'm running all my campaigns on Voluum and the last thing I would worry is them stealing my campaigns.
Just my 2 cent.
P.S. besides, tell me a tracker that can process this kind of volume without slowing down and high click loss.

Well i have seen a free tracking provider selling his private spying app as well for 999/month and noobs were rushing to that tracker like no tomorrow just coz it was free , Coming to Robert and
I had the pleasure to met Robert in person while we where on a meet-up in Croatia, I have to say that he showed to be a well grounded person, very easy going, and very professional. I can vouch for him (he doesn't need it and my vouch is not very important, but well) and I trust my information and way of living to CodeWise products, I only hope to see you guys growing more and more with the same type of transparency that you're showing
Gastón.
interesting thread…. curious…. the job description in the OP says:
"Search new affiliate campaigns/offers"
Then @zeropark says "handing off my CPA media buys that have been running for 2-3 years now"
They do host the tracker…. they would have access to the data… personally, I prefer to host the data myself vs other ppl having access ….curious…(for those of you with more insight) is anything for us to worry about?
There's always going to be this question of the liability and risk you absorb with letting others potentially have access to your data.
In all fairness, if you pay for a server hosted somewhere, the admins there have the tools (but hopefully not the motive) to jump in and check out your tracking system's inner workings as well.
It really comes down to trust and how much you place with certain parties.
zeno… ya… but server admin's from some random hosting company aren't very likely to even know wtf prosper202 is or whatnot.
well… think about it from the other side...
They own a tracker that they host…
They're also looking for media buyers to "search new affiliate campaigns"….
doesn't sound too kosher…
obviously, I don't know them from adam… me? I trust my friends and family… it's the internet dude... I've been doing this since 2001… they're also in another country… and it's not like this type of stuff ever happens… nahhh :-)
Yeah I get ya completely.
To act the devil's advocate again, we really don't know what the current status of this 'media buyer' is and specifically what they are doing.
And, at some hosting company, someone there might know of p202 - hell, they might have even have tried their hand at AM once, failed, and now see this little shining opportunity to peer into the world that they left behind. Not too unlikely for a techy good with servers and coding right?
One of the main differences between a generic hosting company and the affiliate-focused tracking system company is worth mentioning: you'll likely eventually meet face-to-face with reps from the tracking system, but not from the hosting company.
I'm sure we can all agree that in this industry, those face-to-face meetings with the people you do business with are highly beneficial. As far as I know, Robert (and maybe others from Codewise e.g Bart?) are pretty active at meet ups and conferences - and that at least shows some level of personal investment in their company and a willingness to stake their personal reputation.
I'm not gonna lie, I do think having a media buyer doing anything affiliate related in the same office as people developing a tracking system used by 100s-1000s of affiliates is a conflict of interest with potential to damage a lot of things, but I am giving Codewise the benefit of the doubt here. As long as things are segregated properly with roadblocks in place, and people with high integrity like Robert et al. are managing things, there probably isn't too much reason for concern.
But, affiliates are both cynical - and rightly skeptical, so I rest my case.
Zeno, you wise gentleman! When do I finally get to meet you at one of the meetups?
Just to chime in one last time on this thread.. This job posting is outdated, we no longer have a media buyer or are we looking for one, it makes no sense for us. I've left the PDF up as I'm not trying to cover anything up.
I completely agree -- it's 100% a conflict of interest to have a media buying team at this point. Up until a few months ago my company (Codewise) was not profitable and to help the sustain the HR growth, our new office costs, loans, and all that. I did dedicate some of my time to keep my CPA media buys alive. I'm happy to say with the launch of
On a last note, and as a teaser, I'm in the process of compiling a dossier which will disclose all of my affiliate marketing knowledge. All of it.
And that settles that I guess.
Congratulations on coming into the black! That's a great achievement and you guys deserve it!
dude.... super stoked for the aff mktg dossier from the gryn himself
@Robert, what prompted you to start a company not fully related to you profit center (media buys) and maintain if for THREE years unprofitably?
Thats a mighty long time!
That being said, a number of my friends are affiliates who have gone on and started companies somewhat unrelated to AM, although still using their AM knowledge to be successful. I think its laudable you did this, and am interested in your motivations, because you're clearly making waves.
