Hosting a Mobile Landing Page, what server ?

Hey Guys, I need to host a super light mobile landing page
just for redirects to the mobile offer ....

What kind of fast light hosting do you recommend ?

Digital Ocean, or is there something cheaper and better ?

thanks!

+1 for Digital Ocean to host your landers. You may also consider using a CDN to host your static pages. I have experience with MaxCDN but I hear good things about rackspace CDN.

You can just use CDN for static content like MaxCDN or Rackspace cloud

If it's an HTML-only lander, use Rackspace Cloud Files. Much easier and faster to set up than Amazon CloudFront.

I'm a relative newbie and have no problems using rackspace cloud files now... Really simple

I also have a Digital Ocean VPS that I paid a network administrator to set up for me - I must admit, I don't know how well it is set up, but it works and my landing pages load quickly plus he helped with security so it seems good so far!

If you don't want the hassle of unmanaged, you can use a VPS from wiredtree, beyond hosting or anyone similar like this

I'd tend to recommend using a single server if you're targeting one geographical area, it has good internet peering, and you can get a server there. Otherwise, - or if you don't want the hassle - CDNs are your friend.

ok thanks, What's easier and cheaper to set up, Rackspace Cloud or MaxCDN ?

MaxCDN is the one I've found the easiest to setup.

ok thanks, so i just looked at the MaxCDN pricing, and plans start at $9 per month for 100GB of bandwith ,
Would the $9 plan suffice for hosting static mobile landers ?

The plans differ only by bandwidth. How much bandwidth do you expect to use?

If your mobile lander is 50 KB in size, then 100,000,000,000 / 50,000 = 2 million page loads per month = 65,000-70,000 page loads per day.

Frankly, if you are pushing a million page loads a month, $9 will be insignificant vs your traffic costs.
