Hi everyone,
I have been setting up a lander for a game that i want to promote in FB. I have a fan page about games where I would be posting from and I made a lander with a brand new domain name I bought today. The game is green on mywot, here is the weird issue, when I put my link created by prosper into the FB clicks to website ad part, it gives me the "The destination you've entered can't be promoted at this time...." thing. Funny thing is if i put the actual game website on there it lets me get past that part, what am i doing wrong?
P.S - Not trying any black hat trick or anything (not that i know how yet), i am starting out i dont wanna run before I walk.
Thanks in advance..
i now set up direct linking and it took it, i went thru all the options in the page and when i went to click save at the bottom. It say that something went wrong and to try again. I refreshed the page and when to put my direct link again and now it doesnt like that one either. I tried to put the games website and it takes it fine. whats going on??
I think I was being a rookie and had the affiliate link already added to the button in the lander, so FB must to have gone thru the link and hit the network, which has geo turn on for this offer and sent them to a website selling some diet pills. GREAT.... I read the Zeno guide twice and completely missed the point. I guess i have taking in way too much info in the last 2 weeks and some things are escaping my confused brain.
ok i think i am turning this into my personal log, i must be tired (been sitting in front of my computer ALL day learning this thing) this particular offer is not the one that goes to the pills page, it doesnt have geo turn on and if it does i dont know about it cause they take US traffic. I have no idea now why facebook doesnt like darn link. Is it because at some point in the redirection its hitting the affiliate network and its blacklisted? if that is the case i am more confused now, because i have a similar link like that FB seems to be happy with it.
ok the only thing i can think of is this, i just bought this domain today, perhaps someone had this domain and got it banned on FB and i bought it, cause I removed all the linking from it and tried again and it doesnt like it. Even tho now i am not sure if it was already banned (which i think it was, cause when i direct link using my trackers domain it works). Any thoughts, anyone???? I am so confused with this..
That sounds possible - I've seen it before with Adwords rather than FB.
Try getting a new domain and trying again.
Check here to see if your link/domain is blocked - https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/
Facebook wouldn't normally click through your lander - maybe when retro'ing ads, but it is not typical during approval and certainly not during link parsing in ad creation.
How are you creating ads? Are you using the Power Editor? If not, you are really making this really hard on yourself. Use the Power Editor.
What you've described doesn't sound like your landing page or URL are blacklisted, rather it sounds like a) Facebook being buggy or temperamental or b) you're using the normal FB interface that spits errors at everything, dislikes query strings, doesn't like redirects, etc.
P.S. yeah... Geo-redirection by affiliate links, and affiliate links in general, should never be an issue because you should always have your own rules and/or geo-based-redirection in place using your tracking system.
@zeno i was not using the power editor, i was use the normal facebook ad creation thing, and i picked clicks to website. I will give power editor a go today. and also will check into that link you provided.
