How many landers per angle do you guys test in your first round of testing (when you don't even know which angle is best yet)?
For example, If someone is testing 3 main angles and would like to have specific landers for each one...what do you guys think is a good number of landers?
usually two proven landers for the campaign type per angle is enough to make me happy. Then once an angle shows it is a winner, I'll optimize LPs further.
I usually split test 3-4, and whatever one is converting the best I will split test a few more options on that one.
I know Senior' Stackman tests 10+ haha!
^^
Always depends on my gut feeling of the campaign.
My largest campaign of the last 2 years on mobile:
- Tested around 5 landing pages and 2 looked promising.
- I sat down and came up with 50+ ideas, some of the most far fetched stuff and tried about 10 more
- 1 of the newer ideas did well
- So i made 10 more based around the new idea
- The previous same 1 did the best so i made 10 more tightly around that core idea
- Found a few winners.
Must have been 40-50 total. The pages weren't wildly different, but i tried to make the copy significantly different.
