Really want to get into CPI. I've been told UC Browser is doing well in Brazil so I decided to start with that. I've had success with pin submits/1 click floors on Mobile but I think CPI will open a lot more traffic sources up to me.
Offer: UC Browser
AN: F5Media, Mundo, AppFlood
Traffic source: Decisive
Tracker: Volume
Payout: 0.38 (bit lower on F5)
GEO: Brazil
Early results aren't showing much promise but I know there are xx,xxx or more installs in Brazil daily (based on a single network's stats).
I have 4 angles, 2-3 lander variations per angle and 3-6 banners per angle. I also split campaigns into Carrier + Wifi
Bid: 0.46
Cost: $80
Revenue: $0.38
Total Clicks To Offer (from landers): 387
Horrible results. (I previously tested direct linking and spent $10 with 1 conversion and thought I should try some landers before stopping. Current results are with landers only).
Angle 1:
Avg Banner Ctr: 0.72%
CTR to Offer: 14.75%
Conversions: 0
Angle 2:
Avg Banner Ctr: 0.82%
CTR To Offer: 13.68%
Conversions: 0
Angle 3:
Avg Banner Ctr: 0.75%
CTR To Offer: 20%
Conversions: 1
Angle 4:
Avg Banner Ctr: 0.76%
CTR To Offer: 18%
Conversions: 0
I took a look at the spend and it seems fairly evenly spread. Highest spend was $2 on a site which I paused. What should I be looking at in this situation? Normally results like this would make me drop the offer but if the offer is doing xx,xxx a day in this geo then I must be doing something wrong.
CTRs can be improved, but with such a low payout offer, shouldn't there be better results?
The only other cause I can think of are the angles: I chose typical angles based off other offers like clean master, battery boosts etc.. Maybe those are over used in this geo?
Or do I need to get really aggressive with these landers?
With stats these bad, should I try a different geo? I'm waiting for approval to run Dolphin and I'll try DU Browser as well. Hopefully tomorrow I'll be able to test those.
Try Dolphin browser, i think it's also available for Brazil. I hear it's converting better than UC
With stats like those, I'd definitely try another offer.
So, I took advice and switched offer to Dolphin. Tested on Decisive and it still sucked. Looked around a bit and noticed iAmAttila mentioned Decisive sucks. Since he's big into CPI I decided to drop Decisive and move to another traffic source.
Started with direct links:
Spent: $42
Rev: $11.52
CVR: 32
Net: -$30.58
So -73% ROI.
A lot better than Decisive but still not at the -50% ROI goal that is in the appetiser guide.
However, there are A LOT of placements to go through (0 optimization done so far) so I am not sure if I should keep going here or find another source, since right now the money is spread out over so many placements. So far only 2 placements have hit the 3x offer payout and 1 is breaking even with 4 conversions. The rest are at a little above 2x and less.
I paused 2 ads that both hit 5x offer payout with 0 conversions and added 2 more that are waiting for review.
All my banners have a CPA greater than 1.5 the offer payout. Should I be pausing them all and putting new ones up or getting more data first? Since there are so many variables, I am not sure what to do. Normally if I wasn't doing a follow along, I'd keep collecting more data, but I tend to make stupid mistakes sometimes and waste money, so I'd love to get input.
If you've got a placement that's breaking even, launch a breakout campaign on it and start optimising, definitely.
I've started run the campaigns on decisive just several days ago, also found that the CR is low, maybe it need some time to optimize.but in Brazil, the dolphin and baidu browser have a better performance now. after all, the Uc browser has been ran for a long time.
