Do I need Prosper 202 if I am doing direct linking?
I could be mistaking but I always thought that I can only use tracking such as Prosper 202 if I have a landing page. Can I still do tracking if I am direct linking? I have read somewhere that someone was using tracking but he said he was direct linking. I just want to make sure of this before I start my campaign. I am planning to just direct link for now. Thanks

You should use a tracking system in virtually all circumstances.
Without a tracking system, you have very little control over the click flow from traffic source to the affiliate network and will miss out on many insights.
Offer goes down and need to switch offers but don't want to upset campaigns at the traffic source? Screwed.
Need to rotate in and test a lander? Screwed.
Want to look at what hours of the day work better? You sure did make this hard on yourself.
Want to know what desktop browsers or carriers are working better so that you can change targeting? Lol have fun.
To be explicit: You should be using a tracking system when direct linking.
However, it need not be p202. Honestly, I would recommend just picking up Voluum if you are new because, besides being an excellent platform that is also fast, it avoids having to deal with handling servers and tracker installation, and most newbies struggle with this.

Hi zeno! Thanks for the tip on
Voluum. I just took a look and there are different options. Do you suggest starting with the free one or start with the 99 dollars one. Are the restriction on the free on going to affect the performance greatly? I see that for the free one it tracks only 100,000 events. I am not too sure if thats enough?

Take the free one.
The only difference worth noting is the lack of custom domain support, which you don't even need.
100,000 events is not much unless you are doing PPV or volume already.
You can upgrade when you need to, so there is literally no good reason to not start with the free plan.
