Has anyone here used Site Scout for mobile? Any experiences would be appreciated.
Unfortunately they are now very strict for what concerns approvals, while I still have the same blinking creatives running on other famous mobile traffic sources
I have an account with 400 dollars and no ad is being approved, they ask for a minimum of 500 u$s of initial deposit, I don't really think I'm going to use that money... even that the granularity of the services appears to be good, I'm not really happy with the approval times (about 36 hours in some cases) and regarding the traffic, at least for me, is not the best.
Yeah approval times have been the biggest issue for me. They are ridiculously long.
Same issue with approval times, but once your campaigns get approved, it's a good RTB platform specially on all the features they have.
The main issue for me was not being able to get enough traffic despite using high bids and winning most of them just for trying to get more.
Another one you can try is http://www.pocketmath.com/, less features but easier to get approved and easier to get traffic.
We used both a lot before developing in house our own RTB bidding platform.
They used to be decent in the past, now I can't get anything approved at all.
The good thing is they are just an RTB so you can get the same inventory on other sources that are less strict.
I used sitescout for IN before registering here...
*facepalm*
Anyhows, i'm on the platform and raising bids, and raising to $0.5, and then to lucky number $0.67 and after that I reached a buck, zero traffic.
After an hour - 0 traffic
After 2 hours i'm calling their support, and started to talk with one of the support guys there, I'm guessing the guy opened the traffic faucet while I was talking to him.
$17 in less than a minute.
As someone working on a DSP I'm going to chime in a little to help you guys understand how it works more and why you're not receiving traffic.
Typically as affiliates we are used to working with networks that "own" their traffic ie Facebook, Google, PPV. With DSPs you are buying traffic in real time from various SSPs. The publishers that send the traffic to SSPs are constantly mediating various networks to maximize eCPMs. Because of this rotation sometimes you will receive traffic and all of a sudden it will disappear. In addition this is a very dynamic marketplace and you don't know who else is bidding and buying up the inventory you want, so even with a higher bid the DSP as a whole may not get that much of the impressions. Also, despite the dream of a true RTB open auction system there are price floors and throttling going on. Oh another thing forgot to mention sometimes certain publishers block DSPs or specific advertisers. And another thing that is insane, impression order or session depth has a HUGE impact on performance yet is not a variable I've seen any SSP pass.
So to sum up the DSP game is super messy, you do not have all the same inventory on every DSP, ad approvals have to vary and are done on the DSP, SSP, and Publisher levels. With that being said there is still money to be made, but if you can go direct to buy I always recommend it for consistency and control.
Good luck.
