DNS Made Easy...

Hi,
Trying to get all set up and wondering if someone can explain the advantages of using DNS Made Easy...

I get the concept, but how is it advantageous to us as AM's?

For most, a 'premium' DNS service like that will just shave 1-100 ms off domain resolve time depending on the countries -- and this is cold lookups, so if an ISP/router/computer/browser has cached the results then your service makes little difference.

DNS is important, but you won't get huge improvements over Amazon Route 53 or Rackspace Cloud DNS vs say, moving all static content to a CDN or halving the total file size of your page.

If you're already using Rackspace CDN you can use their DNS service for free. That's my current setup, and my mobile optimized pages load in 40-75ms end-to-end.

Thanks! I thought I read somewhere that there are other advantages as well like adding a layer of anonymity?

Not sure where you heard that? Perhaps you are thinking of WHOISguard?

The records of a domain name are transparent and trivial to look up, as is pretty much everything involved in the DNS processes. It's important that DNS records are openly accessible so that the internet hums along happily.
