To those of you who have systems for optimizing and scaling, how do you balance the two?
I've had campaigns where I spent a lot of time optimizing, trying to get that last drop of ROI and ended up not scaling it as hard as I could have before the campaign dies.
On the other hand I've had campaigns where I scaled as soon as I got it profitable but overall ROI wasn't great because I didn't test as much.
I'm thinking the ideal is to start scaling as soon as you're decently profitable, but at the same time, keep testing and optimizing on a small % of your traffic. And if you find something that works better, scale that up.
Thoughts?
Yep, that's pretty close to what I'd recommend as best practise.
Once you've got enough traffic and profit, isolating a small percentage of the traffic to perform tests on is a good way to go.
