First £1,200+ day
Well good and bad news!
Yesterday I hit £1200 profit on one campaign.
The bad news all the money goes to the business I work for.
its not all bad, I get to spend some one elses money on testing as many campaigns as I want

Haha I hope they are paying you well, is this something you could replicate on your own (through affiliate programs)?

It might be wise to ask them to pay you a lower salary, then add in some commission options.

£1200 a day is about $2000. Over the course of a year that is $730,000 of profit you are generating for your employer.
Asking for a slight raise or being paid on commission are probably not unreasonable requests

Agreed. Having consistency for that long would be amazing.

Also I have to say, this forum f'in rocks! I have been a member of several paid forums over the years and this is by far the tightest nit group of marketers I've come across.

Nice!
Having commissions would be great.
Do be weary of your obligations with non-compete clauses and the like - if you do sign something regarding non-competition, make sure it is worded in a way that won't legally effect any private/personal affiliate campaigns, especially if they are in the same vertical.

cloudf,
I think you are doing thing very smartly.
If you are working for a company, you personally will never have a day when you lose money. Your personal ROI will always be positive.
If in the meantime, you are learning about how to make AM/IM work ... you are essentially getting free tuition at no risk.
And if in the process, you make your employer a lot of money, even better. Now you become a more valuable employee, and you are in a great position with respect to your own future ... either with that company or off on your own.
As long as you respect your non-competes and other contractual obligations, you now have a lot of options. You can go off on your own with a lot of confidence that you know how to make campaigns successful. Or you can negotiate better terms with your employer. Most employers would be stupid to not pay more for employees that create even more value to them.

Great stuff! Even if they dont agree on paying you commisions, you still get to learn marketing without burning your own budget! Maybe there are similar offer to whatever you are promoting in some aff networks?

Well done! Great to read and still inspiring...
I am also currently making money by lead generation for the company I work for right now - I'm going to try and switch that to 'for myself' in the next few months/years!

Hey All.
Just a small update!
Yesterday was another great success.
1200 leads added to our db
£87 spent
£145 income.
£58 profit.
Today I will be creating about 10 variants of the add and images then upping the daily spend.
I tried a few tests, replicating the campaign over to Australia but results where very different. Clicks where 5x the cost.
Onwards and upwards.

Tuesday update!
The Good News!
Been averaging around 1500 - 2000 leads per day now.
Yesterday was the biggest we have done so far 2266 leads at £0.0126 per lead!!
Budget has been increased to £400 per day.
I started testing another campaign yesterday direct with a client and holy shit its converting like nothing I have seen before, $200 ad spend $1200 income. The only limitation here is the client only wants xxx leads per week.
The Bad:
Our beloved Mailchimp kicked me in the ass and closed our account, you don't realise how good Mailchimp actually are until you start looking at other companies..
Anyway, I have signed up to Get Response as its by far the cheapest and has more features and UK phone support. The only problem we have is they have to verify EVERY email import which takes up to 72 hours.
In other news:
Our website redesign was done last month, organic rankings have increased a hell of alot alot, bounce rate is down to 10-20% and time on site is well over 5+ minutes.
Also one of my staff get interviewed on three BBC radio stations talking about the site and what we do which was great! Next we should be getting some national newspaper coverage 'hopefully' this month giving us some tasty mentions and back-links.
The rest of the week is going to be taken up with improving the auto responder funnel, getting up more quality content and expanding on campaigns.
@Admin, could you move this thread to a follow along please.

Be very careful with Get Response as well, we had a circa 10k list of existing customers who we contacted on an infrequent basis with special offers etc. In their infinite wisdom and with no warning they shut the account down citing "spam complaints" which were pretty much non existent. Everything we did was above board but there was no recourse.

Thanks for the warning.
What are you using now? I have briefly looked into getting our own SMTP, mailing server and software but its rather expensive.

Recently had this discussion, why would a employee stick with a low wage than copying the ad and driving traffic to the offer theirself? Maybe because they don't understand the whole process? Nah. Maybe because they value a stable paycheck and aren't interested in risk?

Today's update.
WELL. GetResponse has some of the worst support I have ever experienced. Taking 3 days to answer a email is not what i expected. They then need to wait 24 hours to confirm our imported lists are not spam then an additional 72 hours to a test segment of the list.
So for now I am moving over to a self hosted solution using arpReach and either Amazon SMTP or Sendgrid.
It actually works out a hell of alot cheaper at $0.10 per thousand emails which is going to cost us a total of $120 per month to send, instead of paying GetResponse £250 p/m!!

Quick update.
5 more campaigns have been running for a while now, 4 are profitable and 1 i just couldn't break even.
Lower three are making between £30 - 50 per day profit.
-The other campaign is nice little earner, it is bringing in between £2xx and 4xx per day now.
Client is happy with the quality and have doubled our lead cap for next month.
- Bagged a meeting with a massive brand in the UK which i'm rather excited about, got them coming to meet me at the office next Friday, will most probably get some kind of commercial deal out of it.
- Organic rankings are still increasing slowly.

Today has been fun.
Got Thrive setup on our dedicated server. Signed up to Decisive.
I have offers I KNOW convert via Facebook, Email and Display.
The offers are mobile optimised with a £1.20 payout - no lead cap.
Created 50 banners and 10 angles so far, targeting individual cities in the UK with 10 banners per big city with varying colours/designs.
Campaign test of $50 per day , per campaign.
Will update when I have some numbers in.

A Facebook add which was set-up yesterday is kicking ass!

90% of those comments are positive, I like to spend a few minutes a day commenting on the ads, I've found this helps conversion rates as the offer looks less 'scammy' and helps build our brands reputation.

Nice! Yes it is definitely worth your time to moderate and respond to the comments. In fact, social media studies seem to suggest that responding to almost
every comment, even if just by thanking, helps build a more engaged audience.
