Voluum + Avazu Tracking

Hey guys, was wondering if anyone has any experience using Voluum with Avazu. I've done a a bunch of test conversions with my affiliate manager and all visits and conversions are showing on Avazu, but I can't get conversions to show up in Voluum. I've had a few back and forths with Voluum support, but I still can't register the conversions.

The last support response I received:

Here is how you would configure your postbacks and offer links correctly for Avazu:
Your offer url:
http://apx.rdkt.avazutracking.net/iclk/redirect.php?apxcode=xxxxxxx&id=xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx-0N-0N&dv1={clickid}

Voluum postback link for Avazu postback:
http://xxxxxx.trackvoluum.com/postback?cid=[dv1]&payout=[conversion revenue]

Does this look like the correct set up? Is there anything I am missing that would cause conversions not to register?

Thanks for the help (Didn't want this to be my first post!)

Same setup I have so it should work, but one thing that might affect it is if you're using a custom domain for your campaign URL, I believe I read somewhere that you have to change your postback from the xxxxxx.trackvoluum.com to the custom domain or it won't register the conversion. Maybe I dreamed up reading that somewhere, but I do it anyway.

Ah ok, that might be the issue. I'll give it a try thanks.

No problem, I tried looking for that somewhere on Voluum's KnowledgeBase and I can't find it, so I may just be full of shit and it may be something else, not sure, but worth a try.

You should be fine with that postback or your custom domain - they both resolve to the same address.

In your offer URL you have this weird "-0N-0N&dv1={clickid}" part.

Whatever is going on there, you may not be passing a dv1 parameter - it could be passing as 'amp;dv1'.

Are click IDs appearing as dv1 in Avazu? If you can't see your Voluum click IDs in your stats, the postback is not going to work, because the ID isn't there in the first place.

Thanks for your help Zeno,

I still haven't had a chance to change the postback to my Cname, as suggested by Coalission above , but in regards to what you said:

I was told to place the "amp;" by Voluum support. Before that it was just &dv1={clickid}. The "-ON-ON" was the ending of the original avazu tracking link given to me by my affiliate manager.

In Avazu, I see a report with the first 3 columns reading Clicks, Uclicks, and Conversions. I have data for 4 days of test clicks, uclicks, and conversions showing. However, in Voluum after the tests, only visits are registered and then even the visits disappear after a few hours and I am left with all zeros. Also, "clicks" never registered on Voluum only "visits" have and like I said the test conversions have never registered.

Can you see anything obvious that I am missing?

Went back and looked at my setup, and yeah the custom domain doesn't matter. Looks like you need to remove the "amp;" and make sure you have -0N-0N, not -ON-ON.

Here's my postback setup in Avazu:

and here's my campaign URL setup in Voluum:

Copy that format exactly and it should work.

EDIT: Oh, and in Voluum, "Visits" are clicks. "Clicks" are clickthroughs from your lander to the offer, so if you're direct-linking, you won't have any "Clicks", just "Visits", and should make sure to adjust your columns to show "EPV" and "CV" instead of "EPC" and "CR".

Thanks again for your help Coalission,

It's frustrating. I've had that exact set up before. Also, can you think of any reasons why Voluum is dropping the registered test visits as well? I feel like I might be missing something fundamental in the process. In my first back and forth with Voluum support, I was told that because I had "append clickid" on my affiliate network setup, it was getting input twice. Although, I only noticed it placed once in the URL, anyway I unchecked the box and manually placed it like you have above.

Could the problem reside in the campaign URL voluum is producing for me after the offer link is input. If I'm direct linking and using decisive as a traffic source I get something like this:
http://xxxxxx.trackvoluum.com/xxxxxxxxx-a7b1-446b-9cfd-be200e84c247?adid={{{ad_id}}}&creativeid={{{creati ve_id}}}&carrier={{{carrier}}}&os={{{os_version}}} &device={{{device}}}&media={{{media}}}&app={{{app} }}&site={{{site}}}&placement={{{placement}}}&categ ory={{{category}}}&bidhash={{{bidhash}}}

Could that be corrupting the postback process somehow. According to decisive the link looks fine. I'm thinking I should just run some traffic and see if my AM is doing something wrong on his end...

That link looks fine and it will have no effect on the postback process.

Check your offer URL in Voluum. It should look like something this:

hxxp://apx.rdkt.avazutracking.net/iclk/redirect.php?apxcode=123456&id=sajdh3284edfnkjsdf9 083-0N-0N&dv1={clickid}

Then in Avazu all you should need to do is set the postback/piggyback URL to:

hxxp://abcde.trackvoluum.com/postback?cid=[dv1]&payout=[conversion revenue]

Run some traffic and check that click IDs are appearing in your dv1 Avazu stats.

If not, that's the problem. If they are, then conversions happen and they don't get passed to Voluum, it's a postback problem. You will have the click IDs though so can manually upload, and can also check the errors tab in Voluum.

No. Whatever you are sending back to Voluum, it's not Voluum's click ID.

Pass the clickID to Avazu under dv1, dv2, dv3, dv4, or dv5. You do this using the {clickid} token in your offer link in Voluum.

Pass that value back using the appropriate [dv1], [dv2], [dv3], [dv4] or [dv5] token from Avazu.

It's that simple.
