Hey guys just had a couple of questions for you.
First, I was casually testing my landers click through and all of a sudden they started clicking through to advertisements like ConsumerRewards and Apple. I was like what the hell and cleared my cookies and cache and it went back to redirecting to my offer. Any idea what on earth this is and why it happened?
Second, when it redirects to my offer, it shows my Affiliate ID, Campaign name and all sorts of stuff in the URL. Now I'm not very good with the technical side, and I just follow Caurmen's guide and it works fine. But this could be detrimental if there were people trying to spy on my campaign right? Are there ways to prevent spying? It would be a shame to hit a winner and then have it stolen.
Thanks
What tracking system are you using?
The information passed in the URL to your lander or the offer is entirely in your control.
The redirection to ConsumerRewards et al. that you saw will be stock standard geo-redirection, e.g. your offer is for Canada and your physically located in the US.
That's your affiliate networks doing and it's easily circumvented by employing your own geo-redirection in your tracking system.
I'm using POFpro. And I'm targeting traffic in the US and located in the US, so that's pretty strange that that happened. I'm not familiar with implementing my own Geo redirection, how would I do that in POFpro?
