Anyone feeling the Google PBN crackdown

Wondering how they're targeting the PBNs. Any site with large amount of expired domain backlinks?

The joys of SEO ...

I am personally very glad that I never invested much time into SEO and focused on paid traffic instead.

SEO can work on the side, and only if you don't focus on backlinks, just really good content.

No penalties or ranking decreases on my client's sites. (I use mostly PBNs)

Local Google results are one big clusterfuck these days. Every few days they "refresh" (jumble up) some of the local results so nobody wins with organic.

I think true PBN's (private blog network) are pretty safe. However the ones that get sold over and over on forums have huge footprints for google to spot. They are more like Public Blog Networks however. Private should mean just that - only for you.
Personally I have done great with SEO but it is a bitch when you get slapped by google. Thats why I am trying to diversify into paid traffic. If I can make the kind of cash I made with SEO with paid traffic I will give up SEO for sure but until that happens i'll keep at it.

WHy would you use a PBN when for £600 and a good story you can get multiple publications in newspapers.

Over my 4276 websites private network, only a few have been killed by Google over the last weeks.
On average, traffic remain stable (some websites have gain more traffic).

Lots of PBN that are penalized are so because they sold links publicly. If that's your PBN and you do not expose it and keep it under the radar, you are pretty safe with it.

When you are dealing with that kind of business, your safety reside in the automatisation and how much time you need to rebuild a PBN from scratch if Google blacklist yours.

That's a cat & mouse kind of game, you have to be ready to play by this rules.

But SEO has some good side over PPC, I've spend the last 3 months working on the V2 of my PBN tool. That mean I've spend 0 seconds working on my current websites. That bring me low $XXX,XXX profit for that 3 months, with 0 attention (beside hitting the F5 on the stats pannel...), can you do that with PPC ?

I will start PPC next year, but I don't think I will give up on SEO, there is so much profit to be made here.

Like the above poster, I have tons of sites in my network and no issues with de-indexing.

But I'm going above and beyond what the majority of the industry is doing as far as cloaking and removing footprints goes. I have a guy whose fulltime job is managing the PBN

- Unique paid themes
- Mix of premium and cheap hosts, some cloudflare
- Handwritten content
- Unique hosting registration and who.is with matching Gravatar, Facebook, Twitter
- Posts with no links
- Interlinking
- Tons of authority links
- etc etc etc

It really is a lot of work these days to protect a blog network. But the results are amazing.
