I was wondering if anyone here did amazon affiliate before and how did you guys do? what you guy think of it and would you suggest it? Thanks
the most ppl i know who were into amz are ppl who stuffed it haha
on the whitehat side it has many many negative points like
- 24h cookie
- random banns
- long payout period (like 3 month after first start)
- 10€ max / sale for amz EU
- lower and lower % for some categories (just 1% for smartphones and other electronics)
positive:
- coupon payout = easy to create multiple acc
- still very popular
- tons of products
oh wow 1% seems pretty low. Thanks for the reply!
this is just for EU partners
US still have the best payout
I make a few bucks every month from them passively through a few old review blogs.
Does anybody have experience with running traffic campaigns with amazon affiliates? Would hitting CPA goals be possible with this model?
Had an experience back in 2009 creating exact match domains to review a specific product, e.g. LG1516151Samsungreview.com
Maybe in total made a couple of thousands, but only after I added back button script on my websites
it was a game changer, the conversion rate was 10x times better. But honestly, too much work for quite a low outcome.
But still I know a couple of guys who are making pretty serious money with amazon, but they have solid websites with millions of pageviews every month.
I'm using Amazon affiliate review sites to bankroll my (paid) affiliate marketing projects, and my living costs.
Once you get to a certain level (using SEO) its relatively passive, but the time from launching a site to making good profit is 6-12 months and growing (in my experience)

From what I know about this and similar affiliate programs, it's a good match for organic traffic - review sites are probably the best example. But using amazons program for paid traffic campaigns as we are used to, it's not really viable. The % are way too low.
