@facebook.com email address; what would you do if you were me? (1)

@facebook.com email address; what would you do if you were me?

I have a sports-related website that I'm just starting out on. I wanted my own website so that I could own a long-term asset. Right now, I'm trying to build traffic to the website mainly through SEO efforts. Then convert the traffic to email subscribers and then ... profit.

However, I figured Facebook might be a good place to invite people to check out my website as well. A few months back, I used Facesniper (now defunct) to grab user emails (the @facebook.com kind) from team pages in my sport. In theory, these are people that are more likely to engage in content associated with their team. I probably have over 1 million emails that I can build custom audiences with.

I know that FB just banned scrapped User IDs and I have read from other posters here that people should steer clear of using the FB emails to make a custom audience. Is there anything I can do to leverage those email addresses? It seems like a real wasted opportunity, but I don't want my account banned.

In a larger question, I'm not so sure of my overall strategy. Should I just focus my efforts on my website and worry about Facebook later? Facebook ads can get super expensive. Or vice versa, even. Just skip the website and focus on Facebook and finding niches? I guess with the website, its a longer-term strategy that will hopefully give me an advantage of building a brand.

Definitely appreciate any insights on this.

Thanks!
