Hi All,
I am looking to try and learn adwords, are there any books/guides that people could recommend for a complete newb?
Ultimate Guide to Google AdWords: How to Access 100 Million People in 10 Minutes By Perry Marshall.
It's the gold standard and that is the first book I would suggest you read from cover to cover.
I second Perry Marshall's book, it's an awesome intro.
Also John Crestani's stuff: http://training.johncrestani.com
Hi,
The only two books you'll ever need to learn Adwords A-Z are:
- Perry Marshall's book as suggested by others.
- Advanced Google Adwords by Brad Geddes.
Cheers!
A good place for beginners for fundamental principles for tools like AdWords or paid ads is Perry Marshall AdWords guide or Brad Geddes material and YouTube vids of basic campaign setups.
Some of their material maybe old however the principles seem to stand strong.
Learn and get use to excel with pivot tables to understand your data Vs your objectives.
When you get stronger with that you tend to notice other traffic sources or paid ads follow similar principles making it a smoother transition to pick up things when you want to do other methods.
Setup an AdWords account invest some money, follow the policy rules.
Understand the field hands on with experience, every person gets things working in different ways as there is not really a step by step. It's a process.
You will lose money initially, it's like any other skill or profession you have to develope to improve with time.
Don't fall into the usual black hole of it is going to easy or I setup campaigns now where is the money.
Maybe not what most want to hear.
Happy hunting

It's understandable you would like assistance however, have you typed in Google, Bing, checked Amazon or typed the authors names to see if they have an online presence.
