Buzzcity tracking with voluum

Hi guys,

Have a question regarding conversion tracking for buzzcity. I'm using Voluum.

How do i go about issuing a HTTP request during and/or following your conversion event:
http://api.buzzcity.net/vconvert.php?partnerid=[partnerID]&vtxnid=[vtxnID]&clickcode=[clickcode]&hash=[hash]
Is there anyway to do this using Voluum?

Thanks.
Jon

That's just a stock standard postback URL.

You will need to send back one or more specific parameters, e.g. clickcode, so will need to pass those in the first place.

E.g. voluumlink?externalid=[clickcode]

Postback: hxp://api.buzzcity.net/vconvert.php?clickcode={externalid}

Hey Zeno, so I would put the http://api.buzzcity.net/vconvert.php?clickcode={externalid} as a postback?

http://docs.buzzcity.net/wiki/Conver...rsion_Tracking

Enable clickcode tracking.

Configure Voluum so that your externalid has {clickcode} as it's placeholder.

Your ad will then pass the clickcode to Voluum under externalid.

Then, configure your postback to :

hxxp://api.buzzcity.net/vconvert.php?partnerid=123456&&clickcode={external id}&hash=23219d119fc5716b995990716693bae3

Where both partner id and hash are those from your advertiser settings dashboard at Buzzcity.

Edit: obviously no space is meant to be in the {externalid} token, just forum being weird.

Hope you dont mind me reopening with a quick one.

Here is a screenshot from the Buzzcity docs (http://docs.buzzcity.net/wiki/Conversion_Tracking).

Hey Zeno, are you able to explain what the vtxnid token does? Buzzcity documentation says it's an "optional unique alphanumeric transaction ID assigned by your system to track each conversion event." Do we need to include this token to track conversions?

Also, does the lack of app and site tokens mean that voluum will be unable to identify specific placements from Buzzcity? If so, doesn't that severely limit the use of Buzzcity as a traffic source?

Thanks!

No, you don't need to include, hence it being optional.

I presume it just displays in some reporting somewhere on BuzzCity if you do pass it.

Yes. Hence the term BuzzShitty.

They have PubIDs they can pass but I think require you to deposit something like $500, or $1000, or $5000 to get it enabled. Perverse.
